Brando: LSU won't get Herman

I have to admit, I was surprised to hear Brando's negativity on The Opening Drive this morning about LSU's chances to get Herman. It seems like the LSU job is worlds better than Houston. His point was mainly that Houston will be in the Big 12 and it will be a better job.

That seems like crazy talk from my perspective. He has a chance to lock down local talent (which is always a plethora in that state) and he's every bit the player's coach Miles was. I know the administration screwed up the firing last year when they thought they had Jimbo locked down, but why in the world could they not be successful making a run at Herman?

One man's opinion. Sure Houston MIGHT be able to match LSU's offer to pay Herman but they cannot match the offer to pay assistants and quality of facilities.

In no universe is Houston a better job than LSU, even if the former joins the Big 12.

LSU may not get Herman, but the quality of the job vs the Houston is not up for debate.

A lot of talent left New Orleans for Houston about 11 years ago. The Houston area is a fertile recruiting ground in its own right.

Can Tim provide LSU with a list of candidates we can contact?

There is no incentive for the Big 12 to invite UH

I'm not one of those "ESPN hates LSU" fans, but you're just basing Brando liking LSU because of being from Shreveport. That's it.

taking the field is not a horrible bet even if he is our top guy.

Probably just taking that position to be right later

Houston is the fourth largest city in America and was a major recruiting territory long before Katrina. Do you have any idea what the populations of those two cities are?

All LSU all the time.

Almost the entire first page of your post history are LSU threads. LSU seems to own real estate in your head.

Houston isn't the usual mid-tier stepping stone job. There is real potential right now, especially if they get into the Big 12 and make the playoff.

Yep adding Houston does nothing for the Big 12 other than add an 11th team, and take away a piece of the pie from the existing members

that's correct. I can't imagine for a second that Texas would agree to that.
