Those speaker things are all over campus, including about 10 feet from my desk. You might have been sleeping pretty hard.

Sounds like somebody had a test they weren't ready for, feel like there is always one or two of these when the semester starts winding down

Earlier today, The University of Alabama Police Department received a bomb threat from an anonymous caller. The University takes any threat of this nature very seriously; UAPD immediately began to investigate the threat with the assistance of the Tuscaloosa Police Department, the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Department and the FBI.
Following standard communications procedures, the campus was notified of the potential threat via email. Even though a preliminary search of the buildings indicated that this was not a credible threat, UA asked students and employees to be proactively cautious and avoid the buildings for 30 minutes before and after the 5:30 p.m. timeframe specified by the caller. This message was sent via UA Alerts and other vehicles, following the procedures UA uses to notify students and employees when immediate action is required. Students and employees were sent the all-clear at 6 p.m.
It is a class-C felony to make a terrorist threat. The University will continue the criminal investigation of this event, using all available legal resources.
I wonder if they think the bomber reads email alerts?

Has it ever not been nothing? Honestly, when has someone called in a bomb threat and there was actually a bomb? Why would tell people if you want to blow shite up?

I believe the IRA does this, but I would imagine that was not the "terrorist" group responsible for this incident.

They're fricking Irish. They planted a bomb, got hammered, and just had to tell somebody. Of course, when they call in bomb threats, they can never quite remember where they left the bomb.
