Easier how?

A coach screwing a coed isn't an easy situation for an Administration to address. Just ask the Auburn folks.

Because the head coach screwing a coed is unethical.
The head coach using his position to hire his mistress to a position she is unqualified for (and ahead of multiple qualified applicants) is illegal.

One opens up controversy. The other opens up a class-action lawsuit.

Who was the last coach to have Arky in the top 5? I bet merchandise sales and attendance was way up back then. I sure did see a lot empty seats week 1. I don't see near as much people wearing Arkansas clothing as I did back then either. Who is doing better Louisville or Arkansas?

What does that have to do with anything. You think I believe we would be in a better spot without him. Just because that is true doesn't mean you didn't just completely over exaggerated and make a ton of what ifs. Petrino is a great coach, no one is arguing that. Don't pretend like we would be beating up Saban going to the SEC championship though.

The issue was never about how good he was, you just seem to continue to under play the lawsuits.

Shocked that the Bama fans can't wrap their head around firing a corrupt coach

I can at least understand the people who simply don't know the whole story. They normally go away after they are informed. The people that still try to find a way to justify it are a little crazy and need to take a step back.

Like we need other fans to tell us how good he did at Arkansas.

Best thread of the day. Back in the day I was posting on the ESPN board and I remember telling the Arky fans that firing him was so stupid. Other teams have over looked similar behavior from their head coach. They preached to me about ethics and this and that. I told them it would be a long time before they got another coach that good. They have since ended that board and I can't tell them I told you so. So now, I know at least one Arky fan knows it to be the truth. I do get some sense of satisfaction from that.

trust me, at least half of us were right there with you ready to fire Long if need be to keep Petrino.

When discovered, he lied to his boss about it at first.

Then, when his boss offered him a way to keep his job by signing onto changes to his contract with stipulations about behavior, etc he told his boss to stuff it.

Petrino was fired for being a lying jerk.
how do you know? Let me guess, Jeff said so. The same Jeff who signed off on Petrino hiring JD in the first place. The same one who knew all about the affair....
