Texas A&M athletic director Ross Bjork is down in Florida for the SEC spring meetings along with several other key pieces from the athletic department. During a brief moment away from the meetings, Bjork sat down for an interview with ESPN’s Paul Finebaum. In the middle of the interview, the Aggies’ athletic director was asked about their recent hiring of Bobby Petrino as offensive coordinator and what went into the decision-making to bring him in.

quote:

“I was the athletic director of Western Kentucky for a couple of years, from 2010 to 2012. And the guy who succeeded me there hired Bobby Petrino as a head coach. And that was one of the first phone calls. When Coach Fisher brought his name up, obviously, we all did our background homework. So I called Todd Stewart, and he goes, ‘(he) could not have been better to work with, (and) could not have beenmore humble.’ (Petrino) took responsibility for what happened. (He) was a family man, had his grandkids around, (and) had his children around. I mean, when he was at Missouri State, part of his family’s coaching with him. He’s a family guy.”

I mean, he had his kids around when he was in Louisville (you'd see him at games when his son played ball for Trinity HS). Doesn't mean he wasn't chasing arse.

And color me shocked he behaved for the folks that gave him another chance.

Ross Bjork isn’t going to shite on one of his coaches publicly. I file this in the “The AD isn’t going to shite on one of his coaches publicly” cabinet

Meh.

What did you want him to say?

Chasing tail is all well and good until you fail to become bowl eligible or lose to your in state rival a couple of times.

Then every mouthbreathing, knuckle-dragging fan suddenly becomes all sanctimonious in a Fog Horn Leghorn voice and starts talking about family.

Can confirm that his kids were also around all the time at Arkansas. Still didn’t stop him from fricking up royally.

My one significant interaction with Bobby was at a fan day. I was in line to get his autograph with my nephew who was like 4 at the time. When we got up there, Bobby was all smiles and invited me to take a picture of him and my nephew. I want to point out that I didn't ask, he offered and had a huge smile when he did. Say whatever you want about him, but he genuinely likes kids and is a lot nicer around them. I think he hates school administrators though. When he was fired, the guys in charge reportedly argued about who would have the pleasure of telling him.

Bobby always seems to have more time for people who are just football fans than he does for reporters or the people who write his paychecks.

Fans generally don't give a shite about someone sleeping around.

Problem is Petrino didn't just do that. He involved his workplace. And that's where he fricked up.

I'm not defending Pretino. He literally fricked around and found out.

But if some hair lip sports reporter is going to ask that kind of question, WTF kind of answer do you expect?

Question, story and thread are absolute nothing burgers.

Next.

Nobody said he was a good family man, I mean Peter Griffin entertains us but would we really want him as our dad?

Clinton lost his law license.

Limits future jobs.
