Best SEC basketball coach since Nolan.

Donovan is a boss.

Kasey Hill, Chris Walker, Patric Young and Dorian Finney Smith were all consensus 5 stars.

That's a third of the roster.

That's shows that the recruiting services are dumb. Walker is a project. Hill didn't start

DFS plays like a 4 star.

Not more with less. But Brad Stevens definitely did a lot with less than Donovan.

Am I crazy or did the 06-07 teams have 4 first round draft picks?

I usually bash every SEC program. I have no love for anyone else besides LSU.

But I can honestly say I have nothing negative to say about BD. dude is a badass. Him and UK have kept SEC basketball on the map

I think Corey Brewer was the only one of them that was a highly sought after 5*.

His success is the equivalent of say a UK Or Arky football National Championship or regular BCS bowl wins.

I'm not sure I would go that far, but he is an elite coach.

BD is a bad arse. Mad props given.

If my team were looking for a coach I would probably look for someone who sat next to him on the bench at some point in their career...

Anyway, go corch billy d and go gata

How far does Billy D bend the rules?

Almost every program "bends the rules."

Maybe 07, but we didn't win the SEC in 06.

Better hope you get one of his assistants better than John warriors gotta bleed Pelphrey.

Real talk tho, what assistants have worked for BD and went on to be successful head coaches?

There aren't a ton of former assistants as HCs. Anthony Grant and Donnie Jones were with Donovan for 10+ years at UF, only Pelphrey left to take the job at South Alabama. So it has only been recently that assistants have been leaving to take HC jobs.

Current HCs are:
Shaka Smart
Anthony Grant
Larry Shyatt
Richard Pitino
Donnie Jones
