You can’t call the late hit on Mahomes after you ignored the late hit on Burrow a few mins earlier. Those refs were horrible. They weren’t even fishy-bad more completely-incompetent-bad. Great work

@NFL

.

Seems to think it was rigged.

Lost me at Bill Simmons. A genuine space cadet if there ever was.

Bill Simmons is a bum, but he’s not wrong here. Can’t ever leave the game up to the refs.

He's an odd one. Was good way back when.

Sounds like he’s saying they weren’t rigged, just bad.

In a close game with two equal teams, you can't stop the refs from determining the outcome.

Was it dumb?Yes. But People are overlooking the fact that there were still :08 left if he doesn’t do it. Chiefs could have still gotten closer with 1 more play. Bottom line. If Burrow had an OLine, that game isn’t close.

Didn't see the game but late hits on the QB in the NFL is the ultimate tool Las Vegas needed to ensure they always keep the AC on in those glass towers in the desert. NBA rules allow for bookies to control the action completely but every once in a while in a football game someone will accidentally drop a ball or something and the game will change outside of the control of bookies...late hit on the QB fixes all of that. It happens multiple times a season. The same is almost true of defensive pass interference in college football and given the current path CFB is on it won't be long before someone on the sideline who has not been in the game will be called for a late hit or roughing the passer because they happened to have glanced in the general direction of someone who once took a snap in a game at some level. The NFL is HORRIBLE as is the NBA. MLB is probably as bad or worse but it is so boring who cares???

This is the sort of reasoning who's prevalence is largely behind the NFL doing little to nothing to improve their officiating.

No idea who Simmons is, but if the fix wasn't in, then those refs should not get a conference championship game ever again.

Watched both games without any vested interest in any of the 4 teams or even a small give-a-frick about where the QBs played in college.

Cinci got screwed.

That 3rd and 9 "do over" for Mahomes and Co with the phantom whistle was certainly crazy

I tend to agree with the guy. Mahomes is the new face of the NFL and they have to protect him at all cost. Past 2 seasons Mahomes has been getting the Tom Brady treatment.
