2007 NBA Playoffs: (8) Golden State over (1) Dallas in 5 games. Dirk was NBA MVP in a 67 win season.

Despite OU only being favored by 14, their 28 point loss to KSU was monumental.

2011 NFC title game: New York (9-7) over Green Bay (15-1)

Appalachian State over Michigan

Boise State over Oklahoma

1984 Orange Bowl: Miami over Nebraska

Legion Field, Birmingham, AL, September 12, 1981: GA Tech 24, Alabama 21.

Bama had won 47 of their last 51 contests, including 2 NCS, and would go on to win a share of their 9th SEC Championship in the previous 11 years. Tech had lost 18 of their previous 25 games, and would go on to lose their next 10 straight, including losing to 1-10 Memphis two weeks later.

App State was a big upset but TBH I thought it would be a close game. I had seen App play and was Armanti Edwards the QB’s school position coach. I felt they had more overall team speed. Ended up UM chased Armanti all day

US over England in the 1950 World Cup. I believe 6 of the players were from St. Louis.

Leon Spinks, another STLian, over Ali in the first match

1969 Mets over the 100+ win Orioles in the World Series

1980 USA over the Soviets in the Olympics. Period, end of story. We will never see an upset of that magnitude probably ever.

Way down the list after that

Buster Douglas
USA over Colombia in 94 world cup
John milman over Roger Federer at Wimbledon
Chaminade college over number one Virginia
Jets over Colts in super bowl
Jags over Broncos in 96 playoffs
Reds over white Sox 1919 world series
Ali losing to Leon spinks
Michael Chang over Ivan lendl

The 1988 and 1990 World Series should be on the list too. The Dodgers and Reds were VASTLY inferior to the A's.

Moron - That game was the worst event in SCAR football history. Clemson went out and hired Venables following that game...since then it’s been 10+ win seasons , CFP appearances and National Championships for us and irrelevance for your pathetic program

1980 US Olympic hockey team beating the Russians and it’s not even close

Since David skew Goliath, and I’m not sure what the spread was, there’s not been a bigger upset. There won’t be another like that in my lifetime. Those college kids had no business beating the Russians, but no one told them they couldn’t.

West Virginia's offense might have been the highest scoring offense the season it scored 70 on Clemson in a bowl game. Clemson had major issues on defense, so that wasn't even an upset.

One of the biggest sports upsets was well before your time

C6H0

The 1921 Centre vs. Harvard football game, played October 29, 1921, was a college football game between Centre College and Harvard University. Centre beat Harvard 6–0, in what is widely considered one of the greatest upsets in college football history.

LINK

While Centre College may have been lost to the sports annals of history they were not only involved in this historic upset but would also play in the game that created the 12th man legacy at Texas A&M.

Most amazing thing was we had to come back and beat Sweden (otherwise known as Finland) after that epic game.
