Kentucky, Auburn, USCjr, or Florida?

UK- won 1 tournament game since 2019.

Aub- couldn’t hit free throws with best FT shooter at line.

UF- Colorado was in control for most of the game and they let up to early. Almost cost them.

UK- couldn’t play defense and let one player beat them.

USCjr- Dominated for most of the game.

Or is the SEC just overrated this year with its style of play?

I would actually go with Kentucky. Oakland has never won a tourney game in the field of 64. Ivy League champs usually play pretty tough. Plus it was a 14 over a 3, rather than with Auburn a 13 over 4.

Florida and USCjr lost to pretty decent teams. Oregon has been on a hot streak.

Auburn and Kentucky are pretty close. Both were expected to make a run.

I’ll go us because we just won a tournament and looked like we had the depth to get to at least the 2nd weekend. Couldn’t handle some basics of playing basketball and now our season is done.

Auburn lost in the first round to a team that doesn't have athletic scholarships

Auburn gave that game away. Classic choke under pressure. Kentucky simply got beat. Florida waged a great comeback but fell short.

But Foy, AU was one of the hottest teams in the country? I was assured of that despite any evidence to the contrary.

Auburn was the biggest choke. No excuses for that. Let a much inferior team hang around and then panicked at clutch time. The downside of winning 26 games by more than 10 points is that you never learn how to play against pressure.

S. Carolina played the worst. Media has been pimping tham and their coach for months and they didn't even show up to play.

Kentucky was the biggest upset - but in their defense a big reason they lost was because one dude hit every well contested 3 he threw up there. When you smother a guy and he goes 10-15 from behind the arc, the gods of fate are against you.

They didnt smother him though. The damn guy had only made four 2-pointers all season. But he has made 131 3-pointers. They were not ready. He averages like 13 ppg and Cal let him go berserk.

I’d have to agree. But Oakland played damned near flawless. That’s what it took for them to have a chance. Well coached team.
