UT stays...They have a BCSNC.
All the Big 6 has a BCSNC..Tennessee, Auburn, Bama, Florida, LSU...wait.
Who's missing?

And hopefully we don't go back when Miles leaves.
I wouldn't think so but then I see what can happen to great programs like AU and UF in the short term...or UT (33-41 over last 6 years, who woulda thunk it). It can happen to anyone. We are very fortunate, for sure.

Absolutely. Not SEC, but look at Nebraska, Colorado, and Miami.

Yes we are.

Nebraska
Hell yeah. It seemed they were an elite top 5 program my whole life. Then boom, a solid 8-4 team, with little to suggest that this will improve.

Yea, and they can't go back to what they won with. The game has passed the triple option by. Shame, I really enjoy watching the offense run well.

LSU went 2-9 overall in '92 with a seven-game losing streak and was 3-8 overall with an eight-game losing streak in '99. Also went 0-6 in the SEC in 1983.
Every team has skeletons in the closet.

Guess I was mistaken on that. Still haven't gone 0-8 though we did try a couple times.

UT is a permanent member, but we need to retire the big 6.....
The big 6 was started when the conference went to divisions for football. Time to find a better way, we need a rule change (ACC agrees).

I think their Big6 status should be suspended until they provide tangible evidence that they can sustain an athletic department that is at least better than South Carolina and Mizzou

Speaking of streak, how many games have you guys lost in a row? Like 9?
Who knows, too many to keep up. Good thing we have a slump buster for our next game.

Second, UT football, as bad as it has sucked recently, is STILL number 2 in SEC championships and wins I think.
Great Britian had a helluva run too, but what have they done lately?

Sorry but this is a lame thread.
Tennessee is part of southeastern conference lore. No one talks about the big six but everybody knows who they are.
You cant remove one of them.
Tennessee will be back soon. I am surprised they have struggled for this long.

Will Tennessee ever recover from Munson's Hobnail Boot?

This has become the equivalent of the Mississippi schools saying, "This year is our year"

Nah, it was the 01 SECCG that did them in.
Being #4 and getting smashed by Zook the following year certainly didn't help as well.
