Don't care for BGB, but his consolation game comments are truth.

But it doesn't change the fact he's still a horrible bowl game coach and just so happened to be better prepared and executed better than we did. This is what.....1 out of 6-7 bowl games he's won, the others being losses and 3 of those being national championships.

So if the national championship game is really the best 2 teams in the country as it should be in theory, you think a coach has to win the majority of those to be considered a good coach? Even if OU was ranked 1 every time, number 1 doesn't beat number 2 every time.

Going by that logic, Saban isn't a good coach because he has only had 1 undefeated season when its obvious he has a talent advantage in every game he plays.

edit: The dude is the only coach to win every BCS Bowl game. Gotta respect that

Fair enough. And A&M has UCLA and Oregon and Arizona St scheduled over the next few years. But why the hell is Bob talking about A&M's schedule at the Big 12 media days? I can promise you Sumlin didn't utter a word about OU at the SEC media days. The fact that he went out of his way to trash A&M just drips with pathetic insecurity. You'd think a coach with as much success as Stoops has had would have grown up enough not to be so damn insecure.

Surely he was asked something that led to that and wasn't just on a tirade

Not at media days, he's at ESPN today. And since ESPN rides SEC dick, I'm sure they asked him about it. Haven't gotten a chance to watch but people on an OU board said the first 3 questions he was asked were about the SEC

Even if they did ask him about it, how the hell did he know A&M's non conference schedule off the top of his head? He obviously came prepared to trash A&M's schedule. And that's so incredibly stupid, since A&M's schedule is much harder than OU's schedule. Dude is so damn insecure, it's sad.

because I'm sure he knew he was going to be asked about the SEC so he did some 10 minute research so he would be more prepared to answer questions on television. You think these shows are unscripted or something? They don't just go in there and wing it

Let me get this straight. Bob thinks, "I might be ask something about the SEC. So, I better look up A&M's schedule."

That makes no damn sense.

The whining by other conferences and their fans over the SEC is becoming just as annoying as those who promote the SEC. It's disappointing to see Stoops and many OU fans leading the whining Big 12 pack. You guys seemed really cool during the 2 year series back in the early 2000s but have done nothing but whine about SEC since the 7 year championship run started. You guys even went as far as lobbying on behalf of your big instate rival in 2011 whining about Alabama getting in ahead of Okie State. What went wrong and made such a proud program and proud fanbase so whiny?

sigh, they are told what the talking points are going to be before they go on these shows. why do you think coaches never look like they are caught off guard by a question and always have a response ready to go? this isn't a press conference we're talking about. no coach would ever agree to go on a national broadcast like that if they did not know what they would be discussing beforehand. it would be incredibly stupid to open yourself up to be ambushed on national tv.

What talking point could he have been informed of that caused him to think it was a good idea to look up A&M's schedule? They asked him about the SEC, not A&M's schedule.

Yep media days this year has turned into nothing but jockeying for position in a 4 team playoff. The SEC says we are the best because of our track record and conference title game. Big 12 says they don't need a conference title game because they play a 9 game round robin schedule and that is a better SOS than SEC and cupcakes like what aTm plays.
