Is it assumed that texas and oklahoma will join the ranks, surpassing all of the expansion teams and even some core members? within what say 10 years?

How have they contributed to the SEC?

the standard was and always has been to win an SEC championship in football

There is only a big 2. Kentucky and Alabama. Everyone knows this.

Leave it up to uk to drag basketball into an obvious football conversation.

The Big 6 is just a way for Tennessee fans to feel special and included at the big boy's table.
If we're being real about the thing, the SEC has pretty much been a Big Two for awhile now: Alabama and Georgia.
Then there is a "Pretty Big 2" that follows: Florida and LSU.
And then a "If you look at it the right way, we're a Big 2": Auburn and Tennessee.
OU and Texas will have to forge their own way in the SEC, they don't have a direct seat anywhere. Historically, OU was one of the Big 2 members of the Big Eight alongside Nebraska. They were our Alabama. Texas is its own weird thing. They certainly have had big successes, but they sure do squander a mind-boggling amount of resources. Texas is capable of winning the championship every single year. I'm not sure there is another program in the country that quite has access to that degree of potential success. And yet this is their first truly good season since 2009.![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconLOL.gif)

The SEC is a different beast - the only anomaly is Saban. Not Alabama, but Saban. Saban is the greatest coach of all time. To lose the amount of assistants he has and to keep it moving is unbelievable. Here’s why the SEC is different:
1. Cannibalism of top assistant coaches. The SEC eats its own every offseason to claw up and pull down. No league does it like this one.
2. Talent. Mizzou is #12 in the new SEC and we’d be #5 in the B10 & #1 in the B12 in this years recruiting class.
Because of these 2 factors the “Big 6” is a thing of the past. The big 6 could only happen because the gap was so huge with the middle class. The SEC now has more potential upper middle class programs with a gap that’s minimal to the classic blue bloods.

Not until one of you other losers wins the SEC, then it will be a Big 7.
