Gus' players are smart enough to fall down.

Why can't Bert's players follow Bert's example and do the same?

Gravity saves lives.

Bert believes in responsible rule changes instead of just cheating the system a little here and a little there when it benefits you.

It's amazing that an Arkansas fan was dumb enough to post this. I was expecting it to come from an A&M or Auburn fan.

Probably expected to win a conference game last season, too...

I believe the rule would not apply to the last 2 minutes of the half...because player safety doesn't matter then.

Still. A team down by two scores with 3 mins left in the 4th quarter has to sit there and watch the clock run down

Would be amazing if the rule passes and LSU is in the situation against Bama. This site would implode

Well any respect I had for Bielema is gone...to use the death of that player that way is disgusting. Send this pos back to the Big 10 where he belongs.

Couldn't agree more. That's really bush league.

I think with 2 minutes left yes. The proposed rule is only after 1st downs so if I am thinking correctly the game clock would not start until the snap. The 10 seconds is in relation to the play clock only to allow the defense to match personnel...I mean to protect our defensive players from fatigue related INJURIES.

Ironic considering that Arkansas ran more plays and held the ball for over 7 minutes longer than Auburn's "dangerous" offense.

Mike Leach was right. Hiding behind the guise of safety is pathetic and disgusting.

Well in his defense we did run vanilla against shitty teams like them and scored at ease so they held the ball longer

If your coach gave a crap about player safety and was worried about this so much he wouldn't have been okay with it being allowed in the final 2 minutes. Players are more tired then. But since that wouldn't benefit him if he is down with 2 minutes left, its doesn't matter if a player could die then.

Whether the rule passes or not I hope all the HUNH coaches run the score up on Arky this year and then starts sitting on the ball until 1 second is left on every play just to make him cry. Then he and Saban will be back with a rule next year where the offense has to snap the ball with 10 seconds on the game clock because players might die from staying in the 3 point stance for too long.

compromise man. It's how you get the most done you possibly can even if it isn't everything you wanted it's better than nothing.

You people obviously don't get it? Ray Charles could see what is going on here. Quite obviously Bielema is just a patsy here. Saban is behind all of this. Saban realizes that he is causing Bama to take too much heat from the media and other fan bases out there. Saban knows he needs to do damage control. The plan is hatched. He holds a secret meeting with Bielame and tells him to push the agenda further. Saban promises to let Ar-kansas win their next match up if Bielame owns the anti-HUNH push. Little does Bret know that Saban plans to keep the score close until the 4th at which point he dials up the HUNH offense and blows the hogs out. Bret continues to look fat and dumb, Saban appears to have adapted to the game.

On another note, I have been on a House of Cards, season 2 marathon the last two days, lol!

If he didn't agree with it he would have said it shouldn't even be allowed in final 2 minutes when he was asked. Especially after trying to get so dramatic and using a player dying not related to the HUNH.

Everyone around college football has already seen through the rule. The Chairman of the rules committee and even some Bama fans have. The ones still trying to act like it isn't just a ploy are either really naive or just don't want to admit their coach is being a puss.

Bert has this conference on LOCK. When the fans of every other SEC team hang on every word that comes out of his mouth, that means he owns you.

I'm against anything that gives the defense a red, yellow green light for timing the snap count of the offense.

You almost sound like a Grinder here. The only difference being Merlins has actually won a few conference games.
