I don't understand where all the Tennessee hype is coming from? Who did they beat last year with a pulse?
The fact of the matter is the vol's best win was in OT against a USCe team that had already lost 4, including to UK.

There are quite a few parallels whether you want to admit or not. The major difference being that SC was really good the prior year.
LSU has some players, no doubt. However, they look like they'll be incredibly deficient at the two most important spots on the field. The defense should be pretty good, like last year, but without the ability to create disruptive plays it won't be good enough to carry them, like last year.
On offense, LSU has truly great, NFL caliber players at the skill positions. Fournette is the most talented offensive player in the conference imo, and your WR are both Sunday players but it's going to be hard for any of them to make an impact with poor QB play. Teams won't respect your passing game and Fournette won't be able to be what he's capable of being with teams keying on him.
I just don't see how all of that adds up to conference title contenders.

Most of the hype is coming from the media. And I'm not sure it's really hype. I think it's more of, no team in the East really jumps of the page at you, so why not the young talented Vols. We'll be good, not great.

I think LSu has a higher ceiling, and and a lower floor because they play in the west.
There are 2 big ifs the legitimately could go either way.
If the defense maintains excellent and If we can get something north of shite from our QB position.
I realistically see anything from a championship season to a losing season within the realms of possibilities depending on how these 2 ifs turns out.

LSU usually has 7-10 players leave early for the draft on top of the seniors that already leave. This year there were only 3, and their positions are arguably replaceable. LSU has to reload almost every year lol

Huh? If history is any indicator, every 4th year lsu fields a pretty dominant team and we'll be returning a lot of starters at key positions so I dont really get your point. (03, 07, 11, 15?) 8 wins was pretty good for how bad we played at times last year so i dont think I'll be too upset in the results next year.

Yep, most Vol fans have been realistic. Perfect example, yesterday I posted that 8 regular season wins and a bowl win would be realistic for this team. I was then accused of making excuses for Butch and that this was proof of how far expectations have fallen.
Damned if you do, damned if you don't. I guess I should expect it with some of these moronic Rant posters.

Some have. Others, like Serraneaux, Phil and whoever it was that started the Dobbs4lyfe thread have been competing with Arky (successfully) for the title of offseason champs.
I suspect those of you who are less inclined to flame have taken some shite as a byproduct of the kind of crap the aforementioned have put out there.
UT and Arky have a lot in common. Neither has done anything but both built momentum towards the end of the season and appear poised to make a serious run in 2015. I think either could finish w 8-10 wins next year.

You might be retarded. LSU Had freshman at nearly every skill position of offense last year. Our defense didn't, but it was the top defense in the SEC...
