Cameron was fired mid-season as the OC by the Ravens.

is this all you're going to bring to the table? he also has been praised by former quarterbacks for his coaching such as drew brees, phillip rivers, and joe flacco.

quote:

In his 11 seasons as an NFL head coach or offensive coordinator, Cameron’s offenses led the NFL in points once, finished among the top five on three occasions (1st, 3rd, and 5th), and finished in the top half of the NFL nine times. The two occasions his offenses weren’t among the top half of the league in points were his first season in San Diego and his only season in Miami.

quote:

The 2006 Chargers offense directed by Cameron is one of only 28 teams in NFL history to average 30-or-more points per contest. It is the 21st highest-scoring offense in NFL history, and 14th-highest over the last 25 years.

good coaches are fired in the NFL all the time. Using that as an indictment on his career is extremely short-sighted and very ignorant

Bama will have the better offense this year, what excuses will people use then? Talent? Head coaching?

I said as OC only. Not as Head Coach and play caller at the same time.

You are basing your argument on the fact Cam was fired as an NFL OC, but fail to mention he spent the other 8 as a successful OC and QB coach. You fail to recognize (or acknowledge) the long list of NFL players that became household names to football fans while he was the OC.

Kiffin was the CO-OC and passing game coordinator in 2005 and 2006 (not the years they won a National title, he was the WR coach then) and has never been a full time OC until now. Has NEVER been a QB coach at USC, which was Sark’s job when at USC together, and never at any of his others stops.

To even try to make an argument the two are equal in skins on the wall or in ability to make players or an offence better is either blind homerism, or a really bad troll attempt.

Alabama having a better offense has little bearing on comparing the two. They are not mutually exclusive.

Cameron is probably better than McElwain and Nussmeier too. It doesn't really matter. Every OC at Alabama is going to run Saban's offense with the talent he's accumulated.

i agree with that. I feel much the same about the defense at Alabama too, which is the main reason I'm not sold on Smart either until he proves something without the guiding hand of Saban.

Has Lane ever been the sole OC for a team?
