I wouldn't be surprised if they get the SEC Network online platform off the ground using the same format used by geaux zone.

I hope like hell they don't use whatever the hell platform Razorvision uses. I think I could get a better picture by paying a sketch artist to do Skype drawings.

The SEC Network will have better production values, better exposure, and will bring SEC programs more money.

From a purely business perspective, it appears to me the SEC got as good a deal as you could possibly get.

Production value-wise I think it's going to be SEC all the way. The best conference partnered with the best sports network is going to equal the most entertaining product.

With the BTN's population footprint, however, I think it will be hard to surpass them in terms of revenue although it will be neck and neck.

Actual total revenue for the network? Yeah maybe.

For individual team revenue? I bet the SEC wins year one.

What I have gotten from recent news is that the SEC is getting a guaranteed amount of money until the SEC Network profits exceed that guaranteed amount. We won't know for sure what the guaranteed amount is, but given the ego of SEC leaders it is easy to guess it is whatever the B1G makes plus something.

They have done a heck of a job getting that footprint out to their population....

BTN deal gets renegotiated in a few years. Money to the conferences is going to be whoever has the most recent deal gets the most cash per school.

I disagree in the longterm.

At some point, "true" value of these contracts is going to be reached. At that point, the SEC product will likely be worth more -- because there are still significantly more people actually watching the games. That is the logical eventuality of this...

Thusfar, the B1G has done a better job in marketing/selling their brand. That part is for sure...

Why exactly are we in a dick measuring contest with the big ten/12? Our SEC dick is 7 years long as far as the only sport that matters goes and the others do pretty damn well. Networks are nothing to worry about.

I agree that using the various schools stuff for digital would be a mistake

A&M's 12th Man TV is horrible and it's a joke they charge money for it.

The Big 10 states have a population of roughly ~70 million (not including Maryland and Rutgers). The SEC states have a population of roughly ~92 million (thanks Texas and Florida). With most Big 10 states being heavy professional sports leans and the SEC having more population, there's no reason the SEC network won't bring in more money per school.

Alabama has just gotten a project finished just underneath Bryant denny. Just for the network... Bama will be all over it so we might as well have a fully loaded studio underneath our cathedral.

Why the frick wouldn't you include Rutgers and Maryland? They ARE joining the conference next year. The population is 92 million for one and 88 million for the other, a virtual wash.

Why exactly would you leave Maryland and Rutgers out of the equation?
