Well Ole Miss hasn't given up over 500 yards back to back yet.

They also haven't played State or Auburn. Won't really know until these two games are played.

Are you really celebrating a victory over a 2 loss LSU team that is playing a shitload of freshman? Would think you would have other more important things to celebrate.

A better question is: who's will be better at the end of November?

My money is on LSU's and the scary thing is the youth of that unit. The Tiger defense is trending back to its normal self.

Pre game in Death Valley Ole Miss is better defense by far. Post game in Death Valley, DK is done for year, Prewitt is beat up, Tunsil is beat up, and RK may be suffering from a Les Miles type knick (meaning you will never know).

Meanwhile, in game LSU's Beckwith finally puts it all together and looks brilliant, Godchaux looks like he is all sec freshman DT, and Jamal Adams is Badger part deaux.

I think it's a tie.

Just wait until Les reinserts DJ Welter back into the rotation.

I just don't think you can say "we gave up 7 to ole miss and they gave up 10 to us that makes our defense better"

So stopping Mississippi's high-powered offense is just as easy as stopping LSU's inept, one-dimensional offense?

LSU beat Ole Miss with their defense. Ole Miss couldn't do the same. I say LSU has the better defense right now.

Ghee evidently this is to difficult for some to understand - seems fairly straight forward

LSU without doubt.

LSU's very bad offense put up over 400 yards against Ole Miss.

Yep we had 400 yards too in our first road game in Oxford. Their run defense is very pedestrian.

Just win the damn game aubie. That'll put us back in the race. We'll beat MSU for you and then we can settle it in Tuscaloosa.

Both very good points. When they play a team with equivalent athletes, they give up chunks of yardage.

Ole Miss averages 10 opposing points per game. LSU....15. That should tell you all you need to know. Plus LSU has had 3 games where they gave up 21+ points. Ole Miss has 0. Not dick-riding...just telling facts.

Again, post DJ Welter these facts are not facts at all

I think this should he revisited at the end of the regular season. LSU is coming on because they finally have the best players on the field. Defense looks loads better with Beckwith and Adams out there majority of the snaps.

Right now though, Ole Miss.

However LSU will be pretty nasty on D next year when you only lose a couple starters max, and add guys like Kevin Toliver and Travonte Valentine.

Talking about the current teams LanierSpots, not the young bunch your guys torched a month ago. The OM Defense is still the best in the SEC from what I've seen and LSU is currently in the upper 4-5 at the very least. 10 points combined to UK and OM is proof in the pudding as far as showing great improvement.

Neither has LSU. They had a NC between MSU and AU. Besides, I believe the OP is referring to the status of the defenses now, not a month ago. It's obvious to any objective observer that the underclassmen for the Tigers are growing up rapidly.
