Ole Miss. in spite of the fact that their current coach will be at LSU.

Missouri’s schedule is a joke. Misses LSU, Ole Miss, Georgia and Texas.

Ole Miss avoids Bama…which feels weird…doesn’t Mizzou okay Bama?

I haven’t seen Mizzou’s schedule so I definitely wouldn’t count them out, but Ole Miss has tons of returning starters, an in-tact coaching staff, and the #1 portal class, so I think the preseason expectation will be that we make the playoffs. Whether that happens remains to be seen, but that’s what the expectation will be.

Missouri will most likely be 7-0 when it plays at Bama.

Ole Miss should go 11-1 next year. That means no slip-ups, but Lane is getting better at that (something Hugh could never achieve). They get 6 preseason games to get the new guys coached up. I like their chances.

Both start in top 10 next year. Both return loads of talent. Mizzou’s schedule is soft only super tough is going to Bama, host OU who Mizzou was better then this year. Auburn and Aggies are dangerous IF they show improvement. I can see both making it.

I've posted before that I see at least four SEC teams going to the playoffs.

I can see Missouri making it with their schedule. I expect 'Bama to make it. Texas has a softer schedule than Oklahoma, so I'd pick the 'Horns at this point. Ole Miss does avoid 'Bama and gets Oklahoma and Georgia at home.

I see them making it as well.

So my playoff pool would be (in no particular order)--Bama, Georgia, Texas, Ole Miss and Missouri.

Toughest schedules are Oklahoma's and Georgia's. It's not impossible that all five of the above could make it.

Slight edge to Ole Miss. Could see both if things fell into place for them.

I'm firmly in wait and see mode when it comes to Freshwaters merry band of mercenaries. Of course if he does make it work other programs will follow up with portal raids of their own, but I'm not convinced that's a recipe for sustained success. I still believe in taking in high school recruits, immersing them in team culture and molding them into football players. Then of course retaining those same players and only dipping into the portal to fill positions that need some depth.

I'd say both have very good odds.
