You're just trying to stir shite up.

Much as I hate to say it, Tennessee will most likely win Saturday. Wiseman's out as is Lester Quinones.

Depends on how you look at it

UT leads the series

Memphis has more post season success

Memphis is currently ranked higher (current polls are meaningless btw)

UT will most likely win Saturday

Also, Rick Barnes is backtracking on his "we're not playing them anymore" comment.

Memphis is the better name but Tennessee ought to be the better program. UT has underachieved over the years and UM has overachieved.

Its a fun series. Hated to see that when it initially came out. I'd like to see Arkansas and Louisville back on the schedule as well.

Memphis I guess, even though they’ve had to vacate more shite than any other college basketball team I’m aware of. Their Wikipedia page is hilariously full of asterisks

Rick Barnes is a bitch. Every time I hear something this guy has said it's something about not wanting to play some team or another. What a pussy.

ETA: and the answer is Memphis. It isn't even close. All this Johnny Come Lately stuff is stupid. Memphis has a frick ton more prestige than Tennessee. Asterisks maybe, but Kentucky has plenty of those and nobody denies they're a great program. They haven't overachieved either. This isn't football. You don't need 85 guys. At Memphis they probably have enough ball players in their immediate area to stay competitive. Memphis has a tradition of winning basketball. They're always gonna get players and they're always going to be one coaching hire from being at the top of the rankings.

Memphis as long as Penny's at the helm and the players continue to make bail before tip off.

All Time: Memphis

As far as which program is easier to win at now, I think it is essentially a wash. You can win big at both schools in the modern era.

Here are numbers since 2000 which is really when VOLS basketball woke up from a couple decades of total incompetence. This also includes both schools greatest long term sustained runs which essentially happened simultaneously

Head to Head: 6-6
Final Fours: Memphis 1, Tennessee 0
Elite 8s: Memphis 3, Tennessee 1
Sweet 16s: Tennessee 6, Memphis 4
Tournament Appearances: Tennessee 11, Memphis 10
Weeks Ranked: Tennessee 140, Memphis 137
Weeks Ranked #1: Tennessee 5, Memphis 5
All Americans: Tennessee 2, Memphis 2

In all seriousness, I'd say Memphis.

NCAA Tournament Appearances:
22- Tennessee
20- Memphis

Sweet 16 Appearances:
8- Tennessee
6- Memphis

Elite 8 Appearances:
1- Tennessee
4- Memphis

Final Four Appearances:
1- Memphis
0- Tennessee

NCAA Runner-Up
1- Memphis
0- Tennessee

Memphis has been to a Final 4 and has 3 more Elite 8 appearances.... I'd take that over two extra trips to the NCAA Tournament and/or Sweet 16.

Final Four Appearances:

0- Tennessee

NCAA Runner-Up

0- Tennessee

I believe UT has had a top 10 SOS in the nation every year since RB has been coach. We consistently play 6 or 7 quality noncon opponents each year.

Your post makes you sound like you’re still butthurt over losing to Western Kentucky... in both sports.

Edit: To my point... UT plays Washington, FSU, VCU, Memphis, Cincinnati, Wisconsin and Kansas this year. Arky plays Georgia Tech, Indiana and TCU, and the rest are all cupcakes. They lost to WKU by the way lol.

Why would Arkansas losing to Western Kentucky color my opinion of a comparison between Tennessee and Memphis? That's stupid.
