I was pretty impressed w auburn last year, and their d has big time talent bc we tried to recruit a few top players who went w them. Mont Adams and Carl Lawson, and I'm sure there are a lot more.
Cass McKinzy plays a huge part in our defense as well.

Thank goodness for Chick-Fil-A.

Clemson does a good job of snagging skill guys from the SEC, and they pull a great DL guy every once and a while, the seperation comes on the offensive line and the quality depth on defense. Clemson would rather sign 10 guys that are 6'2" 190 than 10 guys that are 6'4" 300. Or so it seems.

Yea that's true and I think Dabos improving on that. We are focussing on OL bigtime this year, with Hyatt committed and I think we get the tackle out of florida (frumorgen or something?) in a few weeks too. I'm glad to see us focus there and think that's what' was keeping us from being in the big game mix.

well, if you took a vote on here the answer would clearly be a&m or Arkansas. no matter what the reality is, these two fanbases seem to favor themselves by a wide margin.

Bama or Auburn. Bama's talent is insane in the 1st year to third year players, but Auburn has more experience.

The funny thing is, they sucked by our standards but were still the best in the league by a fair margin

Only because Florida's defense suffered significant losses and had little offensive support. Muschamp has done a better job coaching his defense the past 2 seasons than anyone else in the SEC.

Really? Robinson had more sacks than Adams and Lawson combined. Had more tackles than both, and more tackles for loss than both.

Nkemdiche was equal to or greater than both in those categories. Chris Jones had more tackles than both and more sacks than both. My point is that they're good, but they aren't better than some of the other young defensive linemen around the league at this point. So no, they do not set auburn apart, it isn't like auburn has these dominant young defensive linemen and the rest of us peasants are trying to get by with 3 stars.

2014 will likely be a year of the Ags taking some lumps.
Now 2015 & '16 ... That's when the magic will happen,
But we're going to have to be content with middle-of-the-pack status this year.

Auburn or Alabama, leaning towards Auburn since they return more.

Agree that it comes down to Bama and AU, but the rest of your statment is a bit overstated, no?

STs- Bama and AU both lose the kicker and punter.
Offense- Bama loses 4 starters and AU loses 3.

Defense--Bama loses 6 starters (but return 5 full-time starters plus 3 part-time starters, so actually a very talented and veteran defense outside of the corners.) AU loses 4 starters on defense best I can tell(Ford, Holland, Davis and at least one of the safeties maybe both.)

So at most, Bama loses 2-3 more starters than AU. To hear some of you AU fans talk, Bama loses almost all starters and AU returns almost everyone.
