Try Holeman & Finch. They make a limited number of hamburgers every night (thirty, I think) and you have to get there a bit early to get one. They are incredibly good though.

Consistently in the top five in the country.

Never miss the GA when I go to Atlanta.

The Vortex on Peachtree is very unique and has some of the best and most varied selection of Hambugers anywhere.

The Vortex is amazing.

The Varsity is good for the novelty of it, but the food is meh.

If the OP is near Howell Mill, he should hit up the food truck park.

Are you kidding? Of course it is...have you actually hung out there or seen the people who hang out there on weekends?

Place was built on an EPA cleanup site. They have housing set asisde for the "low income" crowd.
Part of the funding was from the Feds for that horrible
idea.

You seen all the Condo's just sitting for sale at the place?

So, where are these "low income crowd" housing units? Please enlighten me because, as I said, I live in Atlantic Station and don't know of any such place.

Sounds like you have a problem with African Americans.

You just described any and every neighborhood in the city of Atlanta.

Great steaks with a creole touch? That makes it La food?

As for the atmosphere, it's a hell of a lot better than New York Prime (which was brought up earlier)
It's a fun atmosphere and since most people from La I know like to have a good time...hence the recomendation.

Ok, i'd love to hear your what you recommend. Still haven't heard.

Somewhere in Buckhead probably. If you like Italian, they have a great chain there called Maggiano's. They give you lots of food and it's fantastic. I used to go there all the time when I lived in the Philadelphia area

Maggiano's sucks

If you want upscale, I like the Buckhead life group. Particularly Veni Vidi Vici, Kyma, Pricci.

Also Horseradish Grill is on Howel Mill if it is still open.

Sambucca's was also one I liked if it is still open.

Vortex is like a bikers bar. Rough tatted up crowd, good big grilled burgers though.

Good luck with your investment if you live there. (I'm assuming you own) But for your sake I hope not. Unless it's a home by the Ga Tech golf course.

I live about 10 mins from the place and been there socially all of 3 times and theres not any type of bar or restaurant there worth visiting. Stop with the race card bullshite...I know my own experiences there and what i've seen with my own eyes.

Are you telling me they haven't set aside units for low income workers @ AS? There is some dumpy townhomes there which I assume they live in.

You DO KNOW it was an EPA clean up site?

Atlantic Station is fine during the day. Haven't gone at night for a while. Nino's is great for Italian food. The Vortex has some awesome burgers. You'll probably want to stay in Buckhead, Midtown, or the Virginia Highlands. The Virginia Highlands is probably the best area to hang out for a couple in their 40s.

Things to do
Braves game
Aquarium
Zoo
CNN Center
Atlantic Station
Stone Mountain
World of Coke
Kennesaw Mountain
