Really is an impressive season. Its noble as hell that they shipped out for WWII instead of finishing the season too.

QB Tommy Pharr
9 TDs

The funny thing is Ole Miss is one of the two ties.

2006 LSU team may have lost 2 games but I think they were the best team in the country that year.

QB - Jamarcus Russel #1 overall NFL Pick
WR - Dwayne Bowe NFL Pro Bowler and 1st round pick
WR - Craig Davis 1st round NFL Pick
WR - Brandon Lafell Starter in the NFL 2nd Round Pick
WR - Early Doucet 3rd round pick and on NFL roster
DT - Glenn Dorsey numerous Award winners and top 5 NFL Pick
DT - Ricky jean-Francois Starter in the NFL
DE Tyson Jackson #3 overall Pick
S - LaRon Landry #6 overall Pick and all-american
PR/KR - Trindon Holiday best in the NFL at that

Not to mention plenty of other great college players

Don't laugh at this gentleman, sir. This fellow made first team All-SEC on a winless team that year. Not sure about those stats.

Did one of my blog entries on his '68 season. Amazing.

He ran the ball like twice as many times as anyone else on the team. Sounds like he was a one horse show.

I had no idea he was first team All-SEC, is that the only time its been done on a winless team? Has to be by a QB at least. Hell, he might be the only MSU QB to get first team all SEC, I can't remember it being done in the last 20 years anyway.

Before integration in SEC football you have to take SEC national championships with an asterisk. Sure a lot of other schools in the ACC and SWC did not have integrated teams, but in all honesty the 1965 Michigan State team with Bubba Smith, Gene Washington, Clinton Jones, Charles Thornhill, and George Webster would have beaten Alabama handily.

Doubtful. They lost the Rose Bowl to a UCLA team that had lost to Tennessee whom Alabama tied.

For college football you have to break into eras. It wasn't until the 1950s that you had rule changes and changes in the game where guys only played defense or offense. Plus you have to figure in integration.

College football now is vastly different from college football of the 1950s for example.

Nah! Let's try to diminish Alabama's national championships and accomplishments.

The National Champions

If it wasn't for 8 BCS Voters, 2011 LSU would be the easy #1. Outscored 9 bowl teams, including 4 top 3 teams 500-123.

But 2003, 2007, 1958, 1959, 1961, 1962, 2006,
1969, 1987, 1986, 1970, 1935, 1936, 1908, 1982, 2001, 2005, and 2010 LSU teams all deserve some love......
