I honestly believe Mosley won't even be Bama's defender next year. HaHa Clinton-Dix and Landon Collins will turn out to be better players than Mosley.

Honestly, the difference right now between Clowney and whoever is #2 is so big that it makes everyone else seem closer together. I think there is a long list of players that could argue for that #2 spot.

Clowney has got to be the most overrated SEC player in the last decade. He's a physical freak, but that's about it. I sat in TS and watched Josh Dworaczyk handle him for four quarters. Florida's D-Line was much scarier last year.

As for the OP... it is a good question, there are a lot of candidates.

I'm gonna go with Craig Loston, the leader of the LSU secondary.

Hubbard will be interesting to watch. He finished last year with what, 7 sacks?

Not normally, no. Neither am I in this instance. Simply put Chaz Sutton is probably the most underrated returning defender in the league this year. Originally committed to Florida but recruited heavily by Bama at the time, now he is opposite Clowney and overlooked. No bias, just the way it is. You do the math.

Again with the LSU fans saying this. Do they realize he had 6 tackles in that game and swatted down one or two passes? Hell his season high for tackles in a game were 7 each vs UAB and Clemson. He was also having to run down players in the secondary because at times he seemed to be the only one trying on our damn D.

What because you saw him once and he didn't have an eye-opening play he must be overrated? Hell UT's Oline did a much better job against him then LSU's did. Clowney only had 1 sack that day (and that might've been his only tackle) but it was the sack at the end of the game that caused Bray to fumble and seal the game for SC.

You realize even the best have average, or I dare say even have bad games sometimes right?

Loston is a player no doubt about it. Clowney overrated? I lol'd.

Josh D had a helluva game against a gimpy Clowney with Hill running up the middle and off tackle all night. You had the cheap shot blind side on Kelcy Quarles that knocked him out of the next two games - so yeah, I agree, our DLine did not play its best game in Baton Rouge that night. Touche'. That's one of the reasons I've been rating LSU's OLine higher than UT's all offseason, and will continue to do so.

But you may be going to an extreme low-rating the SC DLine that much - I understand why you are doing it though and that's fair enough.

You make a very decent argument. He had a huge year last season.

Probably Chaz Sutton at the end position opposite Clowney.

If Sutton had signed with Florida or Bama he would be the stud DE at either program. As it is, he is a distant second to Clowney at SC ... everyone is overlooking him.

Excellent point. Sutton is a guy who played roughly 30% of the snaps last year, but was in the top 14 for Sacks in the SEC (for all positions.)

It would be really interesting to take that list, which could be found on ESPN, and cross reference it for amount of snaps the defenders played, to see who had the best stats for amount of snaps they played. I think Sutton would have been in the Top 5.

Lamin Barrow is right there also.

Finished with 104 tackles, 7.5 for loss, 5 breakups, 5 QB hurries, 1 FF, and 2 recoveries.

Very impressive when you consider how many tackles Minter ate up last year and he doesn't get many opportunities to rush the passer.

You picked a player on your favorite team that most people wouldn't put in the top 10 in the league and said he's the #2 def playet behind Clowney. Yeah, no bias at all

so using your logic Georgia's offense was the worst because they only scored 7 on us? our team didn't play well that game, just one of those things that happens after a big game against a top 5 opponent.
