Just because they prepared for that kick return doesn't mean AU wasn't lucky everything broke perfectly for it to happen the way it did. Fortunate is a good way to describe the kick six. A lot of things could have fricked that up and none of them did.

Great plays in great moments are always considered bigger.
That said, this would make the Goal Line Stand one of the greatest plays in college football, and more relevant than the Kick Six (considering that it was #1 vs #2 and the play determined the National Champion - Kick Six would have been just as relevant if AU had beaten FSU, but alas they did not).
However, the Goal Line Stand isn't even on their list. Again, showing the whole thing to be drivel.

The same could be said about a plethora of plays in college football. I don't understand the incessant need for people to put it in the same catagory as the UGA catch.

I don't either. I didn't put it in the same category as the UGA catch. I didn't even bring up the UGA catch. To act as though it didn't take some luck and good fortune for the Kick Six to play out like it did, is to me, disingenuous.

Yes
Yeah, the team that made Trevor Knight look like Vince Young against USC would've beaten FSU.

I don't need any voters to tell me.
Run Lindsay Run!!!
But this would not have happened if Tim Crowe had not sacked Florida's Peace on a 3rd down play. Another unsung hero.

Yea that game was an indication of the talent that Bama had that year. Not every other game they played. Just that one.

No, no excuses. You make an excellent point. The FSU Bama game would have played out exactly how the sugar bowl did and there are no other options at all.

Hold tight, bruh. Bama had 5 turnovers that day. Knight had nothing to do with those. Trevor Knight played incredible that day, but Bama still had nearly 100 yards more total offense and near equal TOP. That game was a one score game and Bama had the ball then a fumble six ended it and provided the final, misleading, margin of victory.

That's an odd criticism of it. Every play in football is subject to the same constraints. The only difference I can discern is this particular play happened to Alabama so it is somehow different.

or at least featured a great player.

Yeah... so did this one
All-time CFB greats, you know what I meant. Nobody outside of Alabama, and hardcore SEC fans (like people on this site) know who Tyrone Prothro is.
Prothro wasn't great either. Electric, yes, but nowhere near great. Season highs: 25 catches, 3 TDs, 347 yards.... His stats barely qualify him as an average player. Without that one catch nobody would remember him.

In about half a season, he filled a highlight reel. He broke his ankle against Florida in such a way that he was still hobbling years later. So, I suppose if you treat a 5 game season's worth of stats as a full season, then yeah... it might look a bit thin.
Do you even football bro?

Let's just completely forget he suffered a season-ending injury in the fifth game of the season against Florida. Let's also forget the boost he provided the offense in the running game as well as with special teams.
Prothro would have been a 1st Team All-SEC selection had he made it through the season.
