considering a UF/Arky game thread gets about 40 posts.....you have to exclude them from the pool of potential winners.
That leaves LSU and USCe

So by your logic if NW Arkansas had the population of NYC (8,175,133) they would average 157,214 fans per game for college baseball.

He won't be coming back to this thread after that.

They did have a 30 minute special on ESPNU.

You also realize if you used that math we would by far have the "best fans" there are about 25000 people in and around Oxford and we have about 8000 ppl per game... So by your math if we were located in a populous of 500000 we would have 160000 at each game. You are an idiot.

The "best" Baseball Fans, or any other sport for that matter, should be viewed as a ratio (attendance to population) to gauge fan support. Obviously, there are many other factors involved but without spending too much time analyzing it here a look at the numbers between LSU and Arkansas and I suspect a few other SEC teams would fare equally as well.
The population surrounding Baton Rouge is more than three times what it is in NWA. If you look at game attendance as a ratio to potential attendees (within reasonable driving distance), the numbers really illustrate which program has a better fan following.
Population
Baton Rouge / New Orleans Estimated Population: 1.4 million.
NWA Estimated Population: 400,000.
2010 Average Attendance
LSU: 10,655
Arkansas: 7,704
Ratio
LSU: 1 to every 131 people
Arkansas: 1 to every 52 people
If Baum Stadium had the same population base to draw from as LSU does then the Hogs would average 26,923 per game or about 2.52 times what the Tigers do using the same game attendance to population ratio. Wow. That’s a huge difference and clearly illustrates Hog Fan fervor.
1. Your logic is a stretch and if you want to include the N.O. area in LSUs stats you would have to include every person living in Ark to reach the same number of universities represented the in same area.
2. You know there ain't shite else to do in Fayetteville. Don't lie, I've been there.

You think? I should have realized that some on this board would have taken my post seriously. Of course it's an absurd analogy but so is bragging on LSU’s baseball attendance. Hell, don’t you think LSU should outdraw Arkansas and others given the huge population base they have to pull from?
And as for “ain't shite” to do it depends on what you want to do. I’ve traveled all over the US and there isn’t anything other cities offer that I’m interested in that can’t be seen or done in NWA. In fact I just saw in the paper yesterday that Crystal Bridges Museum of Art received a record $800 million gift for the new art museum.
Record Gift: LINK
Crystal Bridges Museum of Art: LINK /
The family of Wal-Mart founder Sam Walton pledged to give $800 million to his daughter Alice Walton's new art museum in Arkansas, the largest cash donation ever made to a U.S. art museum.
The gift from the Walton Family Foundation trumps the $660 million in oil stocks that J. Paul Getty bequeathed to his namesake Los Angeles museum more than three decades ago. It's also larger than the roughly $500 million cash gift that Texas philanthropist Caroline Wiess Law bequeathed to the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston.

This is dumb for several reasons.
One must factor in that stadiums have a capacity and no SEC baseball stadium comes close to 26K or ever would.
Likewise, there are far fewer things going on in NWA than in BR. What else are they going to do?
