My vote goes to Patton Robinette at Vandy

Jeremy Johnson hands down and there isn't another backup even close to JJ right now.
eh, I mean there are other backups who came out of high school with just as much hype. All he has really on any of the others at other schools is he has marginal experience.

He is the prototypical Gus Malzahn quarterback.
Dude's gonna be goooooood.

But anyway...by the time Damian Williams will get a chance to start it will be his senior year. I wouldn't be surprised if he is actually pretty decent by that time. He looked reasonably competent for a true freshman last season.

I don't really want to throw Blake Sims in the ring because I don't feel that he is all that good, but I do trust him to close out a game that we are winning. If Brandon Harris ends up beating out Anthony Jennings, I think Jennings deserves consideration. I know Auburn fans will say Jeremy Johnson, but I was pretty unimpressed although that may have been because the entire Auburn program quit in 2012. Everyone else pretty much has unproven or freshmen back ups that we have no idea how good they will be. I guess I will say Johnson but only because of a lack of alternatives.
In a back up QB, I look for a guy who can step in and run the base offense effectively. All week, teams prepare special packages and plays that are specific for a particular opponent. These will obviously be tailored to the strengths of the starter with the ability of the back up to run these specialty plays effectively not really being brought into the discussion. If a starter goes down, it is not reasonable to expect the back up to be able to run these specialty plays, but it is reasonable to expect him to be able to run the ~100 plays that make up the base offense. I certainly don't expect him go out and win a game, but I expect him to not lose it by keeping mistakes to an absolute minimum.
Edit: I am confusing Johnson and Jonathan Wallace.

I don't think Tennessee fans do either right now I mean I guess Worley will start, and then you have Josh Dobbs and Nathan Peterman. All three started games last year and all three were pretty terrible, with Worley being the least terrible. Dobbs was an elite 11 quarterback, so I guess he'd be the "best" backup on the team.

JJ was not on the 2012 team.

So not only does AU have to best back-up, they have the two best back-ups?

He was never headed to Oxford.
Montgomery, as you know, is the heart of Auburn country.
Can't blame him either; kid's a Cam clone.

For UGA: the QB2 will be either Ramsey or Bauta or both. Neither has experience though so I have no idea where to put them in the SEC.
