And we all know exactly how this will end up.

This is what I expected. Question: if Missouri beats Auburn in the SECCG, will they jump Alabama in the rankings? If not, and Ohio St. loses to MSU, Bama could still end up in the championship game against FSU. And frankly, I think Bama would have a better chance against FSU than Missouri or Auburn; I still consider Bama to be the best SEC team in spite of Auburn's improbable win.

While I agree with you, I find it hard to believe that they would let Bama back door another title.

Yay, let's reward them again for not winning the division just because they have the best players.
frick that.
frick that.

Agreed..in spite of protecting the SEC's prowess and fame...we should let the results play out...
And yes..I think Bama would have the best odds...irrelevant..

If Mizzou beats Auburn and Ohio State loses to Michigan State (which is actually quite likely to happen) then Mizzou should be in the National Title game.
The ONLY thing any team has control over is winning their conference. If Missouri wins the SEC then they were the ONLY team that was able to accomplish that extremely difficult task. They will have EARNED the right to play in the National Title game.

Michigan State has one loss and about to play Ohio State for the Big 10 championship and move into the Top 10 this week...They beat OSU for the title Bama is not getting in with a one loss Big 10 and/or one loss SEC Champions if somehow Duke pulls off a Miracle of Ice upset over FSU...

Man if Bama back doors into the NC game, the melt would be historical.

stranger things have happened, but, in my opinion, the winner of Auburn vs. MIZZOU would have earned the right to play in the NC game, regardless of what OSU does against MSU. Alabama has very little "legitimate" chance of getting into the title game this year. If MU happens to beat Auburn, they would have a better record, tougher strength of schedule and be SEC Champs... and of course Auburn just beat them... no way bama would deserve to go over either of them.

Winner of the SECCG is in if FSU or OSU slip and still may jump OSU if they win.

Obviously most people do - including the voters.

Pretty sure that is what would happen. Mizzou would have an extra game and better win than any other 1 loss team. Considering Mizz lost 1 game in OT after missing an easy FG, and I think most voters would jump Mizz over bama. Mizz would be a bit higher in the computers as well and be a pretty sure bet IMO.
AU winning the SECCG vs an undefeated OSU would be the one that would be too close to call IMO.

It would be glorious to beat your team a second time for sure.

I only caught the ending of the Missouri game, but they did a good job versus the Texas A&M offense. If they played Florida State, would the game come down to Missouri's offense versus Florida State's defense? Missouri's offense couldn't reach their scoring average versus South Carolina, Ole Miss, or Tennessee.

Do you - or does any rational person - actually think Auburn would beat Alabama again on a neutral field? Nah, of course you don't.
