You're missing the point, LSU had nine

No, not at all.
Year 1 in the SEC, expectations were that we would have a season like Bert had last year- no SEC wins. Some people maybe expected us to win a SEC game or two, but even hardcore Aggies didn't expect a top 10 finish.
Last year, according to this forum, A&M would have been lucky to win 7 games. After coaches all offseason studied JFF, the mighty SEC was supposed to figure him out and shut him down.
I think the only "expectations" we didn't live up to is some revisionist history where at the end of it all we have three high picks and people say "hey they should have been champions."
If we underperformed relative to expectations simply because of NFL draftees, than what the frick happened with LSU?
Wait, don't answer that question. It would require you to be intellectually honest with obviously is not a priority for you.

Well if you would go look in the thread about us having more draftees the last two years you would see where I stand with how we've underperformed.

Thanks for the new sig quote!!!!
But if you were being intellectually honest IN THIS THREAD you would notice we were middle of the pack in the SEC for NFL players drafted, which perfectly fits our middle of the pack results.

Hey. You need my permission for that
But in all honesty that loss to ole miss pissed me off the most relative to any loss the last 5 years. There's NO excuse to lose a game like that with the amount of talent LSU puts on the field.

And if I am honest I wish we did more when JFF was here, our OC last year held us back. But the past is the past.

At least that quote isn't a flame and is agreeable by 99 percent of our fan base

Classic rant.
Round 1: A&M has three players drafted.
The rant's reaction: A&M didn't do shite with all that talent! They only care about draft picks and not championships!
End of the draft: A&M didn't get "enough" players drafted
The rant's reaction: A&M's not talented at all! Why didn't they win the draft championship?

He got demoted after the season for a reason!!!

If you knew football you wouldn't be laughing. The first thing Sumlin did after the season was demote the guy. It was clear to everyone that he had passed his level of competency. Sumlin figured it was better to let him finish the season than cause a lot of friction and distraction and embarrass a friend in the middle of the season.
When Sumlin's removed from it enough to be able to comment, when he's writing his memoirs or something, I'm sure he'll be like "hey look, I fricked up". Every manager out there has made a poor hire or promotion. The difference is being able to own it and make a tough change when it's called for. Look at Mack keeping Greg Davis on for about a decade too long rather than firing his friend.

He is a great RB coach, but he was given the job after the Cotton Bowl and he never again reached those heights.
If we would have had more consistent offensive production last year, and not the boom-bust production we had, maybe we could have gone to a BCS bowl.
Que Sera, Sera
