He took plays off a lot during his sophomore and junior year. That spooked the scouting community.

A day after Marlon Humphrey, Jonathan Allen, O.J. Howard, and Reuben Foster all went in the first round Cowherd took the time to explain why Alabama players are falling in the draft. Allen and Foster went much later than they were originally pegged to go, as most had them as top 10 picks. Cowherd brings up that Alabama players come into the league beat up and worn out because of the demands of the program. He added that it has helped Alabama win games, but he brings up that Saban is 11-9 in his last 20 bowl games and only has 1 national championship in the last 4 years.

And with regards to NFL teams, Cowherd believes Saban and Alabama are involved in some sort of cover-up. “Alabama is hiding some things,” Cowherd said on his radio show. “I’m not saying there’s illegal recruiting but they’re covering things. They’re covering up injuries, they’re covering up player’s attitudes. They’re trying to polish everything and it looks all great. Players leave early, coaches leave early. They can’t keep an offensive coordinator.

I cant figure it out, he was as dominant as any DL in football not named Jonathon Allen and was so good at the senior bowl practices one scout used " man against boys" to describe him, im at a loss... Lawson i understood.

He took plays off as a soph and junior because we overused him. He was on the field like 88% of the snaps in 2015 which is absurd. I loved Mel and McShay kinda dogging him at the draft the Louis Riddik basically saying "I will take a guy that dominates LSU and UGA all day long over some of these guys being drafted that dominate d2 schools".

"I don’t see any negative whatsoever with them going to Alabama," Gruden said late Friday night.

The 'Skins selected Jonathan Allen in the first round and Ryan Anderson in the second. Both guys started on the Tide's front seven, and both players dominated.

"They come there and they are well coached. Anytime you watch college football, and you watch other defenses, no disrespect, and then you flip on an Alabama game, it’s different," Gruden said. "The speed is different. They are well-coached, they are in their gaps, they play hard, they play physical, and that’s from Week 1 until the end. That has to appeal to you as a coach. They are using their hands, they are physical, they are chasing the ball, they are running to the ball."

4 first rounders

10 players drafted overall - 1 short of NFL record

7 drafted in the first 55 - NFL record

9 drafted in the first 79 - NFL record

In addition to what people said above, he has poor frame measurements with very short arms for a DT

The Bama defense since Saban has been there certainly passes the eye test of mean, physical football. It's damn fun to watch, but sucks at the same time for an AU fan. LSU has periods of that same mean, hardcore style. AU used to have it, and it may be coming back a little. I like defensive players that punish people.

AU has had sissy players for years on D, especially in the secondary. So hard to watch our players tackling with arms rather than bulldozing people. Best example is Fournette making them his bitches. He did. Can't argue that.

On topic:
I would've bet $100 that Mon Adams would've been at least a 2nd rounder. Dude is disruptive as hell on the inside line. Headscratcher, even with the reasons you guys have mentioned. He seems like a really good kid with boatloads of talent.

Inconsistency. He had a very productive career at AU but wasn't till senior year became dominant. I think he should have gone late 2nd but I think he landed at a good spot.

Will be interesting to see what Lawson and Adams do in the NFL

Easy answer, he played at Auburn where they do not develop defensive talent anymore. Or offensive talent either for that matter.

Quite often, their LT is the best tackler on the team.

Not to argue, but how would you explain Trabinsky then? He only started 10 games for UNC.

Trubisky is a QB in a terrible QB draft class plus didn't have 3 years of inconsistency concerns Nor length concerns

If Adams had above avg length arms he is a early RD2 pick. People don't quite realize that part

Perhaps I'm missing something but what does this have to do with Montravious Adams?

People get stupid when it comes to QBs. Usually a much more limited pool of guys and teams desperate for QB help overdraft guys

Auburn fan talking about how people get stupid when it comes to a QB.

Acceptance is the first step, brother.
