State has an easy finish to conference play... If they take 2 of 3 from you guys to end the season they will probably win the SECw.

MSU has a tough road, but if they are close to being a host, they have an ace of their sleeve...

Not if LSU take 2 of 3 from the rest of the series which is HIGHLY likely at this point.

LSU could easily pass you up if you go 6-6

If Alabama goes 6-6, and State wins 2 out of 3 from here on out (8-4), State would win the West, if they won one more game than LSU.

6-6 is the best Alabama will do. 4-8 or 5-7 is the most likely. If Bama finishes 7-5 or better, they deserve a host and possibly a national seed.

But its not happening. Bama gonna get raped the rest of the way.

It's not like LSU is batting very good, they have good pitching but so does Bama.

Exactly. LSU is a good team, as they always are, but they have weaknesses this year. Their offense has struggled to produce runs at times and, until last weekend, they were hurting for a third starter. They needed 2 Ole Miss errors to eke out a win in the 13th inning last Thursday with Nola on the mound. Great win, and great series win, but they're not invincible. The LSU/Alabama match-up should be a good one.

Arkansas' RPI is too low and Tennessee is 12th in the conference. Both are NCAA Tournament teams, but not in contention for hosting.

I'd like to think Arkansas would have a shot at hosting if they got to 38 wins or so, but I expect you're right. We finished 2nd in the West last year, 3rd in the conference, went 7-3 in series wins/losses, and swept South Carolina in Columbia, but were left out of the 5 SEC host sites because of RPI. Two early season losses to poor teams doomed us and, while not as severe, our early series loss to South Alabama this year coupled with playing a pair of RPI bottom dwellers is serving to do the same.

The midweek losses always kill us. We're not hosting this year

All the losses I mentioned (Western Illinois and Pacific last year) were on the weekend, but point taken. I agree.

Bama will be short one of their weekend starters in Columbia:

Gaspard: SP Jon Keller has been suspended this weekend for violation of team rules- Sunday starter TBA vs. South Carolina.

It is all coming together according to the Master Plan...

basically Bama plays 4 of the top 5 (or 4 of the top 6 with #5 and #6 tied) teams in the SEC according to conference record. The one team Bama doesn't play is...Bama. They play 10-8 USC, 12-6 UF, 10-7-1 LSU, and then finish up with 10-8 MSU. It will be a Murderer's Row gauntlet for the Tide....

USC has to play 12-6 Bama at home, then finish up at 7-10-1 UGA, host 6-12 Missouri, and then at 8-10 Vanderbilt...

He has been a solid Sunday starter. I am not sure who would pick up the slack.

Or if we sweep them at home like we did Ole Miss.

A LOT OF IF'S BY YOU so I added another if.

IF is a big word in baseball, I think there is 9 teams making the NCAA and should probably be 10, but I doubt that happens.

The top team LSU faced swept them, the top team we faced in the SEC we swept.

We also have 4 one run SEC losses out of 6, so we are in every game, of course the suspension of our number 3 hurts us.

but we will be there for every game.

Reason Hogs RPI is shitty

quote:

So Arkansas pays a huge price for playing five games against No. 295 Mississippi Valley State (3-29) and No. 300 Grambling State (12-26). As a result, Arkansas ranks 46th in strength of schedule. Remove the three games against MVSU, and its SOS jumps to sixth. Take away the two games against Grambling, and it jumps to No. 1.

If we're even remotely close to hosting we'll get fricked running again for a "northern" site.

You a dummy. Bammmer is about to get exposed for who they are. Just like last night, Southern Miss beat that arse for the 2nd time already this year. Bammer will fall off this final month. Be happy with the 2 seed you'll be getting.
