There is nothing dirty or illegal about spearing as long as it is not done to the head and is not a late hit.

absolutely. if LSU doesn't make it to the national title game this year I would love to see Arky get there. don't think it's gonna happen thought without a defense.

I just noticed, Auburn was offsides on that 3rd down in OT that Clemson had the ball, that woulda gave em a first down.

25 seconds

Poor Clemson.

Yea, not blaming the refs for the Clemson loss by any means, but the LB was about a yard offsides haha.

Those refs were bat-shite blind to miss that. The refs really did miss a lot calls in that game, for both teams. I think the only logical reason for the ref missing that is because he was so caught up in the actual game, as in who will win.

Aubies have a history of spearing/hurting players....what's to cry about? did Bammers just realize this?

Regardless of the bad officiating(just going by what i'm told, onlyy watched the 4th & OT), auburn did what they had to in orde to win. They were lucky, but deserved the win

I teach my players to lead with the facemask

this is the way I was taught and how it should be. Not using the crown is as much if not more protection for the tackler than for the one getting tackled. HELMETE TO HELMET IS STUPID TOO. hIT ME ABOVE THE WAIST AND PLEASE DONT TEAR UP MY KNEES OR BREAK MY LEG.

I was always taught to leady with the facemask too. It's pretty dumb to lead with the crown. Unsafe for both players. I never even attempted it

I didn't have to hit. I was a QB I just went out and threw the ball around.

it wouldn't have been a first down... half the distance to the goal from 8 puts the ball at the 4... it would've been 3rd and one (or something like that).

That's why I wasn't too worried about the offsides on the FG... it was still gonna be 4th down either way...
