The pass rush was a problem for LSU as well, we just chose to go a different route and keep 7 back in coverage.

I didn't understand Nussmeier's playcalling either. Bama was literally ripping off 10 yard gains at will by running the ball and A.J. was really struggling. In all the second-half drives that they went three-and-out, Bama ran the ball on first and second down only one time. Furthermore, Bama's defense couldn't get off the field and was starting to wear down so that gave even more reason to pound the rock as much as possible. It's all water under the bridge now but the coaching in that game from both sides left me scratching my head quite a few times.

A lot (not all) those passes were not defendable. It was brilliant really - and perfect execution by Mett. Snap the ball and the receiver takes 2 steps and the ball is there. Easy 4 yard pickups.
