Between losing Jackson, Green, and Menzie I would be shocked if we do not lose at least two. Too many variables. Our defensive line should be able to create a nice pass rush and that will help some.

There really wasn't anything that LSU defense could do about that pass it was a perfect pass.

Last year I would've said yes. We survived a lot by our defense.

This year however, I don't expect our offense to be nearly as insconsistent and will likely be able to sustain itself on its own. I also expect our pass rush to put added pressure on the opposing offenses and relieve some of our secondary woes.

Bammers secondary is gonna get bombed worse than Pearl Harbor this year.

The more times opposing QBs drop back to pass, the more chances for this guy to frick'em up.

you're assuming opposing defenses will just concede the line of scrimmage.

uhhh.. have you watched an Alabama game the past 2 years? The defensive lines don't concede the LOS, they just get dominated.

The only team that has challenged Alabama's O-line in BOTH of the last 2 years is LSU.

I wouldn't expect anything different this year. Beat LSU, win SEC West.. Those go hand-in-hand lately. The LSU game is the one we HAVE to win to control the West.

I've seen teams stand toe to toe with Alabama.

Hell, TULANE did it in 2008.

uhh yeah. I am aware of that. I was talking about teams who challenged our O-Line in 2008 AND 2009. Both years. As in, CONSISTENTLY challenging our O-Line.

You think Alabama is the only team with a consistent OL or something?

Tulane, Ole Miss, LSU x2, Florida, Auburn, South Carolina, Kentucky x2, these are all teams that have stood toe to toe with Alabama in the last 2 years. Oh and Utah.

Our D-line and linebackers will be fine... it's up to our secondary to make our defense "whole". If they pull it off, the rest of the SEC is fricked, 'cause our offense will be better than last season.

Right because Alabama is 100% perfect on offense and will never lose a game because that unit is inconsistent....

I think the ability of the offense is beginning to be exaggerated.
The most important offensive player on that team last year outside of Ingram was their FG kicker... and I think he left.

Haha Kentucky gave up 38 points.. I wouldn't exactly say their D-Line dominated that game.
South Carolina gave up 246 yards to Mark Ingram. They couldn't stop him when they knew it was coming. Our O-Line also endured McElroy's worst performance of the year. That doesn't exactly scream great defense.
Tulane did it against a makeshift line.. but they definitely still deserve the credit of going toe to toe with Bama.

Florida played well against our O-Line in 2008.. obviously. But they gave up a dominating drive in the 3rd quarter.. and Tebow eventually closed the deal. And got destroyed this year.

Auburn played a heck of a game defensively.. their best showing of the year on D. But they got blown out in 2008.

Ole Miss was behind 24-3 in the first half in 2008.. but they came back, with major help from their D-Line, so I would certainly give them credit for that.

That leaves LSU. Which is exactly what I said in the first place. The only team to stand toe to toe with Alabama in EACH of the past 2 years.

I hope coaches underestimate our offense as much as you do.

Who said the offense is 100% perfect? Is there such a thing as a 100% perfect offense? They will be better than the '08 & the '09 version though.

I do worry about our kicking game though. That's a big til they actually get on the field in SEC play.

You should double check with Urban Meyer and Charlie Strong.

Maybe you won't be able to play as aggressively as Saban likes though.. because of the weaker secondary. Two sides to that coin.

We won't know for a few months :\

Urban Meyer and Charlie Strong did just fine in 2008. 2009 obviously failed, but come on. 1-1 doesn't isn't bad against two 12-0 teams.

Alabama's offense is being talked about on this board like it is going to be unstoppable next year. I think that is a bit overconfident if you consider the trouble the offense had last year even with a heisman RB and that great OL.

And now you have people talking about how dominant Alabamas OL has been like no one has been able to stand against it. Heck, even 7-6 UT gave Bama all they could handle in 2009.

Alabama can AT TIMES, be overpowering. But its not like they just murdered everyone for 2 years.

Stop being homers.
