It’s not like Alabama wasn’t familiar with Helow to begin with. He was an intern in 2012. Spent a few years with Pruitt at FSU and Georgia. He also worked with former Alabama OC Mike Locksley at Maryland.

He’s also spent the last 10 months out of work. He’s being hired as an analyst. This seems like a nothing burger blown out of proportion by both sides.

Exactly

If you needed to replace a LB coach

You would have hired a LB coach

bamas continue to cover up for the ends justify the means

The coach he's apparently been hired to replace is remaining with Alabama through the CFP. So they can't hire Helow (who is a LB and Special Teams coach) as a LB coach yet, but they can get him in immediately as an analyst.
Michigan has advance notice of his hiring, so if they don't change their signals, it's on them. If Alabama by some chance did gain signal insights into Michigan (unlikely), this would just be leveling the playing field wouldn't it? Michigan scouted likely OOC CFP opponents last year (and probably the year before), so they've almost certainly already stolen Alabama's signals. Certainly wouldn't be cheating on Alabama's part, would it (since to cheat you would have to break some rule, by definition)?

Interesting piece of the puzzle even beyond the fact that he’s being named an analyst

Most LSU fans understand this is just business and it's completely legal. You seem to be taking it personally because you want so badly for Alabama to lose and you're afraid that this hire could help them win. Where is your indignation that Micheatgan cheated (something actually against the rules) to benefit the team's chances of making the playoffs?

Well there you go

Thank you for admitting

That there was no rush to hire a replacement

Till after the playoffs

A little nugget of info

That your bama buddies happened to leave out

Love how you conveniently disregarded every logical point that destroyed your assertion, and went right to an irrelevant bit of information.

I think it’s wise to explain how it is irrelevant that Alabama is hiring for a position that is not empty and at the same time is hiring a Michigan guy?

Who is the upcoming opponent …
And are known to be a corrupt program!

Can’t you at least understand how bad this looks to people outside.

I’m not finding you guilty before innocent but come on now.

Yes
It’s legal to cheat on your girlfriend

Tell her that

It’s scummy and you bamas can’t comprehend that

That is ashame

Do you really think I take anything personally on this board?

Where have you been?

You bamas are clueless simpletons

I do not like Michigan
The only program that claimed more fake championships than bama.

I DO NOT think Michigan should be in. Period.

Both Your programs are disgusting cheaters
And most fans know this.

Any other questions or accusations?

Doesn't it make sense to get the future replacement in as soon as possible? Recruits will want to know the new coach, and early signing day is almost here.
Again, Michigan has been been given advance notice to change their signals, something they didn't afford the people that they cheated. Ex-coaches get hired by opponents all the time (Kirby Smart, Lane Kiffin, Steve Sarkisian, Pete Golding, for example, in Alabama's case this year). It's not against any rule, therefore it's not cheating. So enough with the fake outrage over a coach that parted ways with a program a year ago. How it appears to the fans of other schools is immaterial.

OK. You got us. Nick Saban is trying to get a leg up on Michigan by hiring a coach they did not want and fired over a year ago. All of this is within the rules and legit.

Are you happy now?

I’m neither just someone who’s interested in this story all the sudden particularly since there are a lot of moving parts.

A little more gets revealed as we turn another corner every time, for example what was Helow doing over the past year. We know that the operation at Michigan spanned a large amount of time ? Did he just quit talking to harbaugh or are they still friends would you say.

Just picking at the threads .

The key is

You bamas are exposing yourselves

It is absolutely obvious why saban hired a Michigan coach

And many have been saying this (Josh Pate) not just rant posters

It is extremely obvious why the hire was made

But go ahead and jump through hoops trying to explain why

It was just a coincidence

Why don’t you just admit that

Saban hired this guy to get inside information and get an advantage on his opponent

There is no fake outrage

Because there is no outrage

Speaking facts is not outrage

Most of us don't give a shite because LSU isn't in the playoff and therefore it doesn't affect us to any significant degree. But I guess go off OP.

All coaches do everything within the rules to gain an advantage, that's a fact. I recently stumbled across some old news articles about someone who had a major impact on LSU (and NFL) football years ago, Alvin Roy. He was pretty adept at gaining an edge, all within the rules of the day, so no foul.
