Well, over the last 5 years Bama has won 10 more games and lost 1/2 as many games as LSU. We've averaged 12.2 Wins & 1.4 losses , we've dominated our opponents as the +515 first downs shows.

So what is the point of all this? That Alabama had a couple of close games?

Thanks for the breaking news.

Sounds like the OP in a nutshell.

Not Bama. I know that. An undefeated rose bowl win is just that. Bama already has more title than anyone. Why claim bullshite titles. Hell if LSU claimed titles like bama( claim it if any poll had us #1) LSU has 8.

Actually if we claimed them that way, we would have 28.

I have no idea. Bama's run from 08 to present is a top 5 ALLTIME run. Period. Regardless of how close games were.

Alabama is not the only team out there who claims undefeated Rose Bowl seasons, nor are they the only team out there who claims national championships for seasons pre-poll era.

I just said Bama's run from 08- now is top 5 ever and could be argued # 1 because of the league it was done in and the parity of CFB. It's more impressive than what the Bear did because Bear had advantages that Saban doesn't even come close to having.

Oh I know. I just wish the greatest SEC program of all time didnt claim those titles. Also , Bama's 23 SEC titles are far more impressive than their NC.

Well since LSU has great special teams , we need less first downs to get in the endzone but I wouldn't expect a GUMP to know this.

432 less? That is some great special teams you got there.

Come on man, really? Bama has 10 major poll titles, 4 Rose Bowl titles from back in the 20's and 30's(and btw, many schools claim these titles from this era) and one BS title in 1941 that we could easily replace with 1945, 1966 or 1977. Get over it already.

It's insane to me that with all the talk of Bama's bullshite titles, no one mentions the fact that Bama doesn't claim 1966, which should 100% unquestionably belong to Bama

It was a rebuilding year

And thankfully Bama was given a schedule to help with that rebuilding process. Played 2 regular season games against legit teams and "nearly" lost both of those. LSU on the other hand played 4 regular season games against legit teams.
But there's no preferential treatment for Bama. None at all.

ETA: Surely next season's schedule will be different. Right?

I fully acknowledge that Alabama was 11-1 in the regular season, won the SECCG and the BCSNCG. However, as an LSU fan and hearing all the bitching and moaning about how far Alabama is ahead of us, etc. etc. etc. It just doesn't escape me that: a. Alabama was outplayed in Baton Rouge and was within 90 seconds of losing that game. b. Alabama was beaten by aTm at home the next game. Had AJ not thrown an int at the goal line - they could have won that game too - acknowleged. c. They were within a play or 2 of losing to UGA in the SECCG --- and had UGA not squandered the last 30 seconds of clock -- UGA may have beaten Alabama too. Thus making them 10-3 --- however, as we all know ... IF they lost to LSU and aTm -- the would NOT have been playing UGA -- so it's not realistic to say they would have lost to LSU, aTm, and UGA this season. My point is really that while Alabama has won 3 BCS title in 4 years --- they simply are NOT that far ahead of everyone else --- they are ahead, no doubt... but it's a damn close race and the the magin of difference on any given week fluctuates enough that other good teams can beat them

Coach Saban acknowledged this team had "overachieved"

And the SEC has already set us up for a 3-peat. Our schedule next year is arguably softer than our schedule was this past year.

And in a few years when Bama is playing the tough East teams while LSU plays the weaker teams will you bitch and moan and cry injustice then? These schedules are on a cycle.
