Wonder what the cheering was for?
They were cheering because on that play LSU (Jefferson) was flagged for intentionally grounding. Remember, he through it out of bounds with no one around right before nico johnson touched him and he was injured.
I doubt any of the fans at the game even knew Jefferson was hurt yet. I didn't during until the replay.

Ok, Nico lit him up, but that's not what happened either. What would you like me to call it? He had good timing, it wasn't roughing the passer.

i never said it was roughing the passer, but you're making it seem like jefferson just got touched.
he rolled his ankle pretty badly

Sorry, I wasn't trying to make it out that way, I saw his ankle roll and yes it looked painful. I just didn't really know how to describe the hit by Nico, because it wasn't the hit that caused it really, it was Jefferson coming down awkwardly on his foot that twisted his ankle.
Either way, the point I was trying to make was that they weren't cheering because he was injured. They were cheering cause they just heard the ruling on the penalty.

there's no way a penalty could have been thrown - the spearing could have and probably should have been called though

Ahh, poor baby. I hope they didn't boo our team when we ran out on the field, too.
