I do not like the idea but wouldn't it be akin to UNC hanging NCAA appearance banners, sweet sixteen, elite eight or final four while rarely winning the tournament? Participation banners in my opinion.
That said, expect for schools to have playoff banners in stadiums.

Rings for conference champs, bowl champs, etc are pretty weak.
Rings should only be saved for a national title in my opinion.

Nah. We win enough so that we don't have to hang banners or buy rings when we come in second place.

A lot of schools do that in basketball though. Even Kentucky has Final Four and runner-up banners.

Final four deserves a banner. a big one. Getting to a final four is a big deal
Im ok with banners within reason. But rings should be saved for the national title period.
