If we go 3-5 in conference, that translates to a 7-5 season. Win the bowl game and we'd be 8-5. I'd consider that a success this year.

This is partly in response to USC (Kiffin) claiming our 1939 title.

We won't tone it down with the SEC stuff until our state is acclimated to having SEC ball played inside our borders. We're breaking new ground over here without the cultural and historical SEC benefit enjoyed in Southern states.

USC has gone this route too, I think when Petey was there. I believe Meesigan has also. Pretty sure ND hasn't. I don't think OU has either.

You really need to take a look at some of the claims USC, Michigan, Tennessee, and a few other schools make as far as national titles are concerned before you condemn Alabama as being the only one who does this. Auburn's SID tried to claim an additional 2 or 3 national championships on their official website last summer before ridicule forced them to change their minds.
USC just recently started counting 1939 as one of their program's national championships. Why is it that only Alabama gets hit over the head for this? Because of 1941. That's it. That is the only national title claim Alabama makes that I will honestly say is a joke. The other 13 are solid claims, with 9 of those 13 being without question legit.
