I hope Nike has an out clause when Saban leaves. It would be unfortunate to see the money drained on a declining program once he does.

I bet Nike's wondering how to get out of their contract with LSU right now.

Good for y'all. If this thread was about Arky getting a Nike contract, this would've been a relevant post.

Extremely relevant

Arkie's gonna pay Nike to outfit them!

Hence, Nike leverages this income stream to keep the gumps!

They probably are. They should avoid this situation when it happens to Bama in a couple of yrs. Nike losing to ULM just doesn't do it.

Or another example of an Arkansas fan trying to make people remember them.

Stupid Big XII school.

Adiddas is paying Michigan $66m/10 years. Wonder how they feel about that deal now.

Bama did well and will open up a lot of marketing opportunities for the school. Any t-shirts celebrating the t-shirt deal planned?

Those Nike gloves Ingram and Richardson were wearing at the BCS National Championship Game were pretty sweet.

If the trend continues, it won't be long before they'll be illegal. Last language was "strongly recommend" which is one step from "require"; teams should enjoy them while they can.

As big of a business as college football has become, I don't think it right that the NCAA continues to make rules that regulate how much the players can have fun. I know it's all in the name of good sportsmanship, but what the NCAA is doing is turning these players into emotionless zombies. It takes much of the fun out of the game.

The NCAA doesn't make the rules that govern the game.

Wonder if there is anything in the contract about those "combat" unis. Don't think that would go over well.

You can't just stop there. You have to continue and tell me who is.

Member schools vote on the Rules Committee recommendations. The committee is always made up of AD's and HC's....as it should be. It's "their" game so they should have the say in how it's conducted.

The current emphasis on sportsmanship and player safety comes from the coaches.

What part of the stadium is the "Swoosh" going on?

The only swoosh you need to be concerned with will be at the 30, when Richardson streaks past the Auburn secondary for an 80 yard touchdown gallop...

our combat unis looked badass. I could see this not going over well at all at bama though esp considering it didn't go over great here
