When did they start this? I don't remember every being searched.

In the student section at BDS?

I was there 2004-2008 and it was like this most every game. Now it wasn't 100%, but if you were looking fraternityish or sororityish and had areas of your person or purse/bag that could hold minis they were gettin searched (boots, pants, purses, etc).

I think the most genius move I came across was a friends date who brought liquor in test tubes and put them in tampon wrappers.

You'd think they would have felt bad for us and let us do whatever we wanted since we were forced to tolerate the Shula era.

Though, those student section crowds were always full and generally only left 1AA and FIU type games early, never SEC games (LOOKING AT YOU CURRENT LAMEASS STUDENTS).

Psshhh, this was 9 years ago. They owe her royalties. She actually had to steal test-tubes from the science lab .

Kids these days have it so easy. Don't have to work for anything.

Can't take that away from ya, and I've been to all 9, but you guys have clearly been the better team in all but 4 of those (hello DuBose Shula), all your wins except for 2002 and 2010 and the losses. But hey, it happened.

I expect this year to be much more 2010 and much less 2006, minus the end of course.

If Auburn's shite seasons don't count in the minds of their fans then Bama fans reserve the right to erase 2000-2006 from our memories.

If this were true, they would have let us do bong hits and acid during the Dubose era.

It wouldn't be that much of a cash cow compared to the money most athletic departments in the SEC already make. Troy State has decided to start selling beer at their football games this year and they expect these sells to generate $200,000 per year. That is nothing for most SEC schools.

When you consider that they'd probably be selling a 12oz can @ around $8 a pop, I'd wager most schools would stand a make a lot more than just 200 grand, though....

Plus Troy only gets maybe 17,000 - 20,000 fans to most games and they usually only play 5 home games.

Exactly. I can promise that places like BR, Tuscaloosa, etc would take a few games to figure out how much they need to have on hand. They'd be running out, at first....

Selling beer at games just kind of seems pointless.

If you are in the non-student section you can bring in whatever you want anyway, and generally it is much more potent than a Bud Light (and way cheaper).

I just don't see the point.
