Bama Pitching

After watching this weekend, what seemed ya'lls problem is your pitching routinely starts every batter down in the pitch count 1-0 or 2-0.

Arkansas won this series solely on staying patient and allowing Bama to walk them.

Your pitchers also run their pitch count up throwing from behind.

If ya'll could fix this, ya'll could be a much better team.

I agree, but they have a lot more issues to fix besides that.

They pretty much suck.

IDK, when their pitchers can get ahead in the count they do fine. When they get behind they are bad.

The pitching staff is pretty lean on experience. The lineup, save for Dugas and Rosecrans, is pretty lean on talent.

They're all freshmen or inexperienced, I assume they'll get better

Walks were not the main problem today, although it added to and caused more problems. The main problem for Bama today was our first 11 batters sent to the plate got 8 hits.

No pitching from behind in the count was the problem Bama put themselves at a disadvantage all weekend. Its alot easier to hit when you know the pitcher has to throw a strike.

Excellent analysis sir... The insight you've brought the Rant on this subject is invaluable.

You need to check out the guys that are hitting for us.

Their are two walk-ons in the lineup. Our best hitter outside of Dugas is a 18 year old freshman. Our four hole hitter is barely hitting .200. We're hitting .247 as a team.

I'm dead serious, when I say this may be one of the worst SEC baseball teams in recent memory.

This would have been a much different series had there not been so many walks issued by Bama's pitchers. To give that many BoB's is an anomaly.

In regards to the hitting woes that were referenced about Bama, that should improve. This is just the first SEC weekend and there is plenty of time to improve. The biggest concern is the pitching staff. Fix that and wins will materialize.

I don't think anyone should be cocky at this point in the season. Too much ball left to play. I'm happy with the series win, but it's time to get ready for a road series now.

I didn't say it was new, but it's relevant nonetheless. Congrats on the NC

But this is a baseball thread...

Bama got rid of that former LSU coach and look what happens.

If PM is still around after this year, LSU should steal Gaspard from Bama and make him our hitting coach. Bama could always hit well when he was the hitting coach. I doubt he could turn down LSU, espescially if he gets canned.
