Bama needs to schedule 2 premier non-conference games in 2013

As it stands now, Alabama's 2013 schedule might be one of the weakest in our history. Arkansas, Tennessee, and Auburn would normally be premier games but those programs have fallen so low that we need to beef up the schedule and try to arrange another big game for the last opening. If there was ever a year to play 2 big games, it is this one.
Aug. 31, 2013 -- vs. Virginia Tech at Atlanta
Sept. 14, 2013 -- at Texas A&M
Sept. 28, 2013 -- Ole Miss
Oct. 5, 2013 -- Georgia State
Oct. 12, 2013 -- at Kentucky
Oct. 19, 2013 -- Arkansas
Oct. 26, 2013 -- Tennessee
Nov. 9, 2013 -- LSU
Nov. 16, 2013 -- at Mississippi State
Nov. 23, 2013 -- Tennessee-Chattanooga
Nov. 30, 2013 -- at Auburn

you should see if Boise St. wants to come down and play.

They aren't putting a ND or Oklahoma between VT and A&M. I think the best you can hope for is a MAC school.

If you beat Virginia Tech you're starting the season 1-1. You might want to slow your roll a little bit.

Yeah I would imagine premier OOC teams are practically beating down the door to get a piece of Bama. Especially while we're down like this...
"Hello Mr. Moore? This is Notre Dame/fill in the blank, calling. Can you guys perhaps kick the living begeezus out of us next year"?
Remember it takes two to tango. You can't just "schedule" someone without them agreeing. Why would any so called premier team want to add Bama to their schedule?

Maybe we can see if Towson is free for the second week?

Fix us up with FL St. That's almost "premier"

Virginia Tech is usually a decent team, so I really can't fault Bama for playing them.
Now, GA State and TN-Chattanooga....surely that's near the bottom of the SEC for non-con opponents.

They're certainly no UAB or Wofford.

The schedule sucks, that's for sure. Even if we wanted to schedule another team from a BCS conference, I'm not sure we could at this point. It would be tough to find (1) another team whose off weeks matched up with ours and (2) who wanted to play us.

We could pay Georgia State to go away, but who do we replace them with and where will the game be played?

Just have a scrimmage with your jv team. I mean Bama is the best right?

Bama dodged the Big 3 in the east.

So you are suggesting starting the season with Va Tech in Atlanta, premier BCS team, and then @Texas A&M? Sounds like a good idea. What kind of premier BCS team are we going to get to come to Tuscaloosa on such short notice anyway? Big time home and home matchups are scheduled years in advance.

Just like UGA, USCe, and UF "dodged" Bama?

We don't need to do shite.

I would like for Bama to do that, but it'll likely not happen. Our schedule doesnt need a boost until 2014 which surely the SEC office will give us some good teams out of the east.
As for next season. Our SOS sti may not matter much

Must be good to have Slive in your back pocket.
