You can choose whatever parameters you want. I chose common opponents because that's a commonly used metric. Common opponents plus head to head? Not so much
Also, not sure why you keep trying to compare top 3 WRs or compare a certain subset of LSUs WRs versus a certain subset of Bama's WRs other than to artificially create a comparison that is beneficial to LSU. We're comparing returning units and Coop, Bell, Norwood, Jones, and White are all returning WRs that will play a lot for Bama regardless of how few LSU chooses to use in its rotation.

Because Alabama fans are the easiest to troll.

167 isn't trolling, that's how he feels.
Sad, I know.

Hey sac I tell you what you can throw all of white's EIGHT receptions into the bama toatal if you like. Then compare LSU's four receivers to all five of bama's receivers that are returning. You know the five that actually played last year. Not another carter that was preseason All SEC without ever having played a down for the tide.
If you think what we did head to head doesn't matter then so be it. I would think that is more important than common opponent. When you put the head to head in there then we are just comparing the two teams to the rest of the WEST. What's wrong with that???

I've got an idea. Using only FBS teams, obviously.
Bama's Average Pass D played : 49.9 (so 50th rounded)
LSU's Average Pass D played : 59.8 (so 60th rounded)
Bama's WRs had better numbers on the year against better defenses.

Hold on there sweetness. It's your buddy sac that compared our numbers VS common opponents. I brought up numbers headsup so we would be comparing each other to the SEC west as a whole.
That's pretty much the same competition is it not? Except LSU had to play a much better pass defense team in bama that what bama did in LSU, correct?
So I say when comparing our numbers to the rest of the west it's LSU that played the better pass defense teams. Correct?????
Sometimes a pass defense seems better than it is because that team is much easier to run against. Why risk the chance of an interception??

So you're trolling, just plain stupid, or 11.
Posted on 4/29/13 at 11:03 pm to 167back
Bama's returning WRs had more yards and TDs than LSU's against common opponents, SEC West opponents, SEC opponents, and all opponents. But by all means keep harping on the head to head game because obviously that 1 game is more representative than all the ones I just mentioned.

I'm the stupid one????
You don't see the point of some teams having better pass defense numbers because their defense is easier to run on?
So I'm the stupid one???
So you think mizzou and UT had better pass defenses than the cocks and the gators??
So I'm the stupid one???
You want to compare certin position groups of two similar evenly matched teams. Head to head if they played and common opponents.
What LSU did VS wash, north texas and whoever else the tigers played doesn't matter. Just like what bama did VS michigan, western ky and florida atlantic doesn't count for squat.

bama VS SEC west
65 catches 974 yds 7 TDs
cooper 25 catches 422 yds 6 TDs
ch jones 16 catches 198 yds 0 TDs
norwood 15 catches 182 yds 0 TDs
bell 9 catches 172 yds 1 TD
LSU VS the west
77 catches 977 yds 4 TDs
Landry 33 catches 340 yds 3 TDs
OBJ 20 catches 303 yds 0 Tds
Boone 16 catches 200 yds 1 TD
Wright 8 catches 134 yds 0 TD
Now tell me where those numbers make bama's WRs oh so better than what LSU returns?

Should read: 67 catches, 996 yards, 9 TDs
You conveniently left out White's 2 catches for 22 yards and Norwood's 2 TDs against Auburn.

That's easy: 9 TDs >>> 4 TDs, 995 yards > 974 yards
Congrats on being close (but still less than) on yards though.

You got me there sac. Less than four more yards per game turned everything in bama's favor. I bow to greatness. They are the goat of sec/country WRs.
Quite honestly I just missed those two TDs. It wasn't on purpose.
Forgot about white being he was such a great contributor to that passing "O". That's how close the numbers were. It took a kid that had two catches for 22 yards to get the tide more receiving yards than LSU.
And from the start I never said LSU WRs were BETTER than bama's. What I said was they were right up there with them. Tigers had ten more receptions and 19 yards less in receiving over a six game 3.3ypg) stretch. If you don't think that's just about equal well......
