Exactly.

They think they'll be fine. In for a very, very, rude awakening.

Bama returns 41 out of their 52 sacks and top 4 leaders in TFLs. Some of you are in for a rude awakening if you think the front 7 isn't going to be good again.

LSU's defense is gonna be better than Bama's.

Wow.

No.

We will score more than 30 against L5U. Your offense will 'attempt to be different' early in the season, then Les will revert to the Les that your opponents all know and love.

But on the bright side, Lynyrd should get a little more than 31 yards against us.

Barners have them beat, gap is shrinking though.

the 3 best pass rushers are coming back. but yes the 3 best run stuffers are leaving.

hmmm

I will take harder to throw on (esp since we still have no qb).

Sounds like next year will be very tough to run on them, versus next to impossible this year.

Yea because our front 7 is always so shaky. We never know if they will be elite like this year or bad like in........oh, wait.....Bama's front 7 is always great.

Lol, I will take great over what you had last year!

Will not lie, hope to never see a group that impressive again.

Also, I think it was Saban (could be wrong) who made the analogy of teams being like ingredients and a cake.

I think the mindset of the team will be just as important as the talent --- talent has not been lacking in years.

In some ways, I think it is harder to keep the fire after you have built it.

We will see.

The downplaying of losing those players is pretty remarkable. That's a pretty big hit to the front 7.

The only guy who isn't replaceable is Ragland.

One thing I was never fond of with Kirby is, besides the 2009 SECCG, his defenses have never been able to play contain worth shite.

The defense next season probably won't be as good as this one but some of you thinking next year's defense is going to take a huge step back is laughable. The secondary is experienced and is expected to be better. The 3 out of the 4 LBers are returning.
Bama had the no.1 ranked defense in 2012 despite losing a bunch of key starters in 2011.
Obviuolsy some of you haven't learned anything about Bama.

Who said this?

You're always good. You had the best maybe ever this year though and lose senior leaders and extremely experienced and talented depth.

Ragland is such a beast.

Their inside linebackers will probably the worst of the Saban era. Reuben Foster is pretty good, but he isn't Reggie Ragland. They likely won't have a Refgie Ragland type inside linebacker next year

I don't know if they'll be the worst. Reuben is really good, I'd argue that Reuben as a Junior > Reggie as a Junior. The stats don't show it, but Reggie was pretty much the #1 ILB as a Junior while Reuben was the #2.

Starter with SEC game experience <= high rated highschool player with no experience..

How many starters are being replaced by someone who has no experience?

Jon Allen is coming back. Daron Payne was a starter in the 34, and even when he didn't start he still shared the spot. Da'Shawn Hand and Dalvin Tomlinson both had a lot of PT.

Reuben is back at ILB. Shaun Dion Hamilton rotated with him so both our ILB spots are returning experience. Ryan Anderson and Tim Williams didn't start at Jack, Devall did, but both played just as much if not more and both are way better players. We lose Dillon Lee at Sam, but Rashaan Evans likely steps in and he may have played a similar number of snaps as Lee.
