I love all the Bama fans discounting Tiger Stadium AT NIGHT by pointing to their "winning" record in Tiger Stadium. We are talking about a night game here people, not the 2:30 PM time slot this game has been in before.

Just an FYI...

quote:

In the last decade the LSU Tigers are 47-1 when they play at night in Tiger Stadium.

And to the Bama fans who think it doesn't matter because you play in so many tough stadiums... you do realize USCe plays in the swamp every year right? Ask them how they liked Tiger Stadium at night. I promise you what they witnesses will seem like a pep rally in your local highschool gym compared to pandemonium this Sat. night.

Aub fan here but I don't get why LSU fans think their stadium is so intimidating...I went in 2009 for the game and was let down compared to what the LSU fans on here hyped it up to be.

31-10 isn't nothing to be intimidating about.

It's not ALWAYS intimidating......but when it's on, look out.

It will be on this Saturday Night

BOOM Motherfrickers!!!!

Just imagine how much more pathetic their record would be in the old eyesore against Bama without all that mastic and magic.

-LSU was humiliated by Bama in New Orleans at the beginning of the year
-Despite this, they were pre-season #1 and then lost to Florida and were relegated to a non-factor
-They're universally considered an underdog at Home.

If this team doesn't come out pissed and ready to tear some heads off I will be greatly disappointed. LSU is one of the few teams that shouldn't be mentally intimidated by playing Bama - This will be the difference from the other teams Bama has played this year

Combine all of these things with 90,000+ drunk Corndogs at night and Bama should be afraid

Does Bama not get any tickets to this game? Are all the patrons going to be LSU fans. I would expect over 10,000 Bama fans to be at the game. It may be like Custer, but I expect they will be vocal if they are brave enough attend this game.

I don't know about the mystique. I went once and will never go back. For the most part, I like LSU folks outside the stadium.

My first year at UA, I had a cape-wearing LSU fan pounding on my door at 8 am on gameday, asking if I had any orange juice. When I said, "yes," he proudly announced, "I have vodka!" That part of the LSU fan base is great and fun to be around. In grad school I did research at Hill Library and you couldn't find a better, more helpful group of people than the ones I ran into on the LSU campus that week. I like too that the stadium is actually a dormitory and was built with WPA money during the Depression. The fact that Huey Long wrote the fight song is cool, too. All of those great things about LSU are why I'm so puzzled by the game time experience on the LSU campus.

The part of LSU that I saw in and around Tiger stadium at game time, however, was an embarrassment to Louisiana and LSU. Vulgar, degrading comments directed to female UA fans, spitting, threats of violence, etc, and that was before I even got inside the stadium. I sat in the section reserved for Alabama players' parents, which was surrounded by chain link fence. For nearly the entire game, there was a guy hanging on the fence, two feet from me, yelling, screaming, threatening, and generally being a nuisance to civil society. There's no need to act like animals. If "Death Valley" is such a intimidating place to play, why not leave the intimidation to the 11 guys on the field? Harassing the opponent's fan base doesn't gain yards during the game.

If Bama lets the noise bother them, then yes, Tiger stadium will be an advantage. But it'll only be an advantage if Bama lets it bother them and there's not too much LSU can do about that.

The stadium is loud whether it be at 2:30 or 7:30. The same LSU team still has to suit up regardless of the time.

Basically, the theory of LSU being "better" at night is purely a myth. LSU is good regardless of the time, if you disagree, you're just 'ignant'.

Not really.

I fully expect Bama to be business like as they have been all season. This game to me as a Bama fan has a revenge-like feeling from getting beat in BDS last year verses LSU. This game to me feels like the 2009 SECCG vs UF....... JMHO

it's pretty close. and gumps = the Christians

Say what? The Flavian Amphitheater (popularly know as the Roman Colosseum) was not a site of Christian martyrdom. Check your history.

Why not just admit that this is an advantage for LSU, no matter what Vegas and ESPN says?

Because Bama sports a 24-9-2 record in Baton Rouge?

I'm more concerned about when I should break out my "at least you guys crossed the 50 this time" sign once the game is well in hand.
