It's not like he needs to be John Elway. A tad more of a passing threat with our usual top 10 D and we are right back in the thick of a playoff run.

Too answer your initial question, no I don't think Saban goes in another direction. Seeing as those options are true freshman or walk ons.

I think he'll improve, but will it be enough to offset the losses on defense.

You added a lot to this, thanks for your amazing insight. Let me phone Saban and ask if you could come on as a special advisor.

I feel bama still has a great defense, but takes a step backwards this year. Hurts will have to play better and if games are closer than Saban likes, the pressure of replacement comes into play.

His inability to complete passes had the defense on the field for over 90 plays.

Kiffins inability to give the ball to Henry was a bigger contributor inho

I think this is a bigger problem than his accuracy, mobile qbs depend on how their legs so after their first receiver is covered they'll take off. I believe athleticism is a great quality, but sometimes it hurts at the qb position. I believe that's the case with Hurts.

We get it, you don't like dual threat QBs and see facts only to support your viewpoint. But did you by chance notice the other dual threat QB in that game? I guess you must have since you had to have witnessed him depending on his legs and taking off when his first receiver was covered. That had to have been the backup pocket passer who threw for 400+ yards two years in a row against that great Bama defense. Certainly in your world a dual threat could never do that. Also in your world you want your QBs to be unathelic. Got cha. Makes perfect sense.

I heard from a cousins source that Saban was bringing in Miles and Cameron as QB analyst to fully develop Hurts QB skills.

Obviously, you don't get it. Watson went 36-56 420 yds, 3tds. 12-18 130 yds alone in the 4th quarter. Go back and read the Op or don't, but you missed the points that were made.

His TD against Clemson was almost identical to the one he scored on LSU. He will get the passing thing down.

Lsu fan here and I thought the same thing. When hurts scored that touchdown with so much time left I thought that was the only way for y'all to lose. Three runs up the middle and you had another ship instead.

I hope so....when we have met teams with more or less equal talent, it was a struggle. LSU took us to the wire but luckily for us LSU is more dysfunctional on offense than Bama. LSU is equally as talented everywhere else around the ball. Bama had enough to grit out a win against LSU but not enough gas in the tank against Clemson.

The difference being Clemson had a QB. If LSU ever discovers that position, look out.

If anyone wants to see what a real dual threat QB looks like watch the time game again cause it ain't Hurts.

10-0.....we are fortunate that Miles had a bigger blind spot than Saban as far as QB development otherwise we would not have got out of Tiger Stadium with a win.
