So you think sims has the upper hand?

Well he's been #2 for 2yrs and the starter is gone.. who else would have the upper hand? Has anyone ever been the #2 qb for Saban that long and not started their Sr. Year?

Sims, imho, was never the 2nd best qb in our system but was placed as number 2 to make opposing defenses spend time on a possible read option qb.

Coker or Alex Morris imo.

No but we've also never gone out and signed a QB who can transfer in and play without sitting out a year so we're in unchartered territory.

I just don't think Coker transferred to sit on the bench

What does that even mean...?

Neither do JUCOs, neither do incoming Freshmen.. NO ONE signs a scholly to sit on the bench... these cliches are stupid. He transfered to Bama because he has a "chance" to compete for a position at a school he's a fan of... no more no less.. he's not a guaranteed starter.. nobody would promise him a job like that..

He wouldn't have gone to bama if he didn't know for a fact he would be the starter IMO.

Yes, and as a Ohio State fan, Bama poses much more of a threat than does LSU in the foreseeable future. Thus why I'm keeping up with their qb options.

I'm interested in knowing how you think that will play out...

- you think he will come in and get 1st team reps day one?
- you think the coaches tell the QBs battling in the spring that it's for the #2 position?
- which coach do you think promised him he would start?

my guess is.. after losing a QB battle he wanted to leave.. no promises other than a shot.. but Coker starting this year is a LONG shot at best.

What makes you so sure Blake has the talent to be a Alabama's QB in 2014

you are the one that is adamant about him starting correct?

Because I'm not in denial or blind?

He won the #2 Job twice
vs Ely (after he returned from RB for a year lol) Ely Xfer

- vs Morris, Bateman, The Great Del Rio lol et al
Del Rio Xfer

Stats for the 1st time Blake Sims ran the real offense V Ga State- 14-18 130 1td

Blake Sims has never thrown an interception (non Aday lol)

Coker hasn't had a performance that good or NOT thrown an int in live competition.

I have way more reasons to believe Blake starts than you have that anyone else starts.. I have facts you just speculation.
