Its fine. Crappy stadium but fun place to tailgate. No louder than any other SEC stadium.

Favorite away game

The stadium has always been loud and intimidating. But now, it's a lot nicer looking stadium with all of the upgrades. Very impressive. Also, I noticed LSU is playing more music through the pa than prior trips to Baton Rouge, but not as much as much as Bama or a few other schools. Which I mean as a compliment to LSU. I don't mind a little music through the pa, but it seems to take away a lot of the pageantry and kills the band.

Another observation, In the past 2 trips to Baton Rouge, I was not harassed near as much as prior years. I don't think I got tiger baited a single time. I got a few obscene comments thrown my way in the stadium for cheering for Bama, but not too bad or as vulgar as past years.

All in all, still my favorite place to watch a road game. The stadium is almost as nice as Bryant Denny, and consistently louder and still retains much of the college football feel that is lost when stadiums try to emulate the nfl environment.

Was curious what the opposing fans thought about that scene in the stadium?

Sometimes I wonder if all the crowd noise is counterproductive when the enemy is on offense. Sure it's harder for the offense to audible, but it's hard for the defense to adjust as well. You might get a delay of game or make the enemy use a timeout, but you might get better overall results to shut up until the ball is snapped.

I want to go to a game where I can cheer for LSU and also when I'm pulling against them.

This sounds like a nightmare. The only reason I never bet on the saints/LSU

StopRobot, you're just showing either your extreme bias or ignorance. Every form of the media and former players from every team in the conference rates it as the #1 game day atmosphere in the country. When is the last time BDS got that kind/amount of accolade? I'm going with bias, as with Oxford & Starkville being very loud, with max capacities in the high 60 K's, there is no physical way they are as loud as TS.

It was consistently louder than any stadium I have ever been in. The 3rd down on the first play of the 4th Quarter seemed to be the loudest moment of the game IMO. Sat in section 102 40 rows up. Great experience that I'll never forget.

Can we just go ahead and make this a "Laugh at Kyle Field" thread?

Of course, you will. He's good for Alabama.

To me, the rivalry part of the Alabama-LSU series is behind us. Bama has won the last four. LSU needs to win one for it to be a true rivalry.

The game only has national significance at this point because the Tigers have the NFL-caliber personnel to potentially win the game each year. But LSU has won one SEC title and division title now in the last seven seasons. Overrated as a national factor. LSU has slipped back to what it was under Charlie Mac in the late 1970s.

I haven't bee in several years, but the tailgating must have improved quite a bit. 20-30 years ago it was by far the best. Everyone could park right outside the stadium, fans from both teams might be seen throwing the ball around, the huge piss-oak was right there. Inside the stadium I would be right in the middle of the LSU section and I was about the only real drunk and obnoxious fan and never had any trouble with the LSU fans.
