New Orleans Superdome is not a home game for LSU. It is a neutral site. The tickets will be split 50-50. LSU will have to travel, Bama will have to travel. LSU will have fans in the streets and so will Bama. It is in your home state, but as national media and both fans contingencies take over (Bama has larger fanbase btw) things will more or less even out. It will be a NEUTRAL site.

Why do Bama fans keep saying this? Unbelievable

Population of Greater New Orleans - 1,235,650
Population of Alabama - 4,779,736

Conservatively say that 90% of all people from New Orleans will pull for LSU in the game gets you to 1,112,085.

Now, conservatively say that 35% of people from Alabama are Auburn and misc. fans gets you to 3,106.828. Now, lets say that half of those people are able to take off work on Monday and Tuesday from Wal-Mart, now you are at 1,553,414. If 85% of those people make it to New Orleans for the game you will have 1,320,402 fans minus the ones that are knifed on Bourbon Street.

So yes, if the entire state of Alabama fans that can travel show up in NOLA, you will have more fans. We will just have to assume that the 802,484 people that live in Baton Rouge metro area don't show up since that is such a long drive and all. Seems totally reasonable to me.

Please, allow me to explain. LSU and Bama will be allocated a certain number. Beyond that, the remaining seats are given (first choice) to the Sugar Bowl season ticket holders. Yes, there is a Sugar Bowl committee that has members, and these people are mainly LSU fans that buy tickets year to year in hopes of LSU being there. And if not, they just sell them off to Stubhub or Ebay. And then there are Louisiana based corporations that are given large blocks of seats. You think those seats are going to Bama fans? You better think again. In 2003 and 2007, I saw LSU fans turn from Dr. Jekyll to Mr. Hyde when it came to National Champ game tickets.

Look, it's the same thing about Atlanta. LSU will never have a majority crowd in the SEC Champ game because of the same thing. In 2007, the SEC Champ game was a Tenn home game basically. This year's SEC Champ game will be a UGA home game. And I understand why. It seems like if you have been to so many games, you are a litle bit older and would understand as well.

I dont understand why this is so hard for the Gumps to figure out. The majority of tickets go to Sugar Bowl season ticket holders, who are majority LSU fans and buy them every year in case LSU makes it.

Yes Alabama will have a ton of fans in New Orleans, but inside the game it will be an LSU home game. Each school only gets 17,500 tickets so I think it will end up being around 48,000 to 29,000ish but it will certainly be an LSU home game for all intents and purposes

Winning by a FG in OT when you failed to score a single TD now = cheek clapping in Louisiana.

Strong standards.

Yeah...I fail to see this asswhoopin' LSU fans are talking about. I DID however see a fanbase that's lucky our field goal kicker shat the bed.

Are you so categorically stupid that you use this reasoning to make yourself feel better about a loss?

If your kicker made those field goals, LSU coaches would have altered plays and changed things to play a different game. The idea that everything would have stayed the same had your kicker made those field goals is just plain stupid, but if it makes you feel better about your loss then have at it.

There are more posts from corndogs predicting how they will win 3 games in a 14 month period than there are Bama fans predicting a win. The arrogance is coming from the corndogs.

What the hell is so special about NO except it smells like stale beer and piss? Tickets will be distributed equally.

You're ignoring the number of sponsor tickets. Will the sponsors give out more tickets to corndog fans? Maybe.

If you've read the myriad of posts on this, it isn't true. Schools are allotted a fair 17,500 a piece. The rest go to mostly people that are LSU fans. I know you guys want to believe that it will be 50/50, but it's not going to even be close to that. Maybe outside in the Quarter it will be, but inside, it will be closer to 60/40, maybe 65/35.

'Bama fans are arrogant because we think we can win in New Orleans.

How the frick does that make sense ? LSU Fans believe they can win anywhere, they have the right to feel like that. If your team is the top team in the country. .then yea, it's ok to feel that way.

As for traveling, 'Bama fans travel extremely well. We travel as well as anyone for a big game. We packed out Pasadena for the BCSCG a few years ago. New Orleans is very close and I could very well see a ton of 'Bama fans being in Nola.

Season ticket holder bullshite is for the Sugar Bowl which will likely be UGA vs. Houston unless LSU loses Sat then it will be LSU vs. Houston. It does not include rights to BCS NCG tickets. I have a friend in the ticket office and also friends on staff at the Dome so don't spew bullshite that you have no idea about, I even worked a couple Superbowls and various Sugar Bowls in the Dome doing everything from grounds assistant to security. The split will likely be 55/45 Bama maybe heavier simply because they travel better and it is only a few hours like previously mentioned tons of people showed up in Pasadena way more than what was expected and it was about 60/40 Bama in the Rose Bowl. NoLa and the Superdome is a huge advantage for an SEC team, with both being SEC it will be an even split regardless of it being in La, trust me on this. Bama has won a couple NCs in that building as well you guys forget about that.

I applaud the BamaNation.... when you send out a kicker who has made exactly ONE fg longer than 46 yards and convince the entire ESPN conglomerate to award you "missed scoring opportunities" 3 times. Then you mystically have them totally disregard the fact that you made it to the red zone ONCE while LSU made it 3 times. The reason you made it only once is because on that night, in your stadium, your team was outplayed and out coached. NEWSFLASH- Alabama LOST ! They didn't blow scoring opportunities, shoot themselves in the foot or any other EXCUSE you cry yourselves to sleep with at night. You had your shot now gtfo of the BCSNCG talk. You don't deserve any consideration. You had your shot and you LOST.
