In the 2009 Ole Miss game, Alabama started their possession inside Ole Miss territory something like six or seven times because their defense was forcing so many turnovers while Javy Arenas was making big plays on the return game. What has happened to that team?

LOL...what is this crap, the early onset of Alzheimers?

What happened to the the Ole Miss team from 2009? Nutt got fired.

As far as the game you seem to think you remember so clearly...which I was actually at...we only scored one TD the whole game. We had to settle for 5 field goals in that game. My most vivid memory is Kareem intercepting near the goal line and taking it almost all the way back...only to have Richardson promptly fumble it right back to them.

1. We started on our 25 and punted.
2. We intercepted (#1) and started on our own 34 and punted.
3. We started on our 34 after a punt and after having 1st and goal at the 3 had to settle for a FG.
4. We started at our 19 and had to punt.
5. We started at our 34 and had to punt
6. We intercepted (#2), started on their 26, and got to 2nd and 7 from the 9 and ended up having to settle for a FG.
7. Javy set us up with a punt return for 1st and goal at the 5...and we have to settle for a FG again.
8. We start at our 39 after a punt and get our only TD on a long run by Ingram.
Second half...
9. Started on our20 after a punt, and punted.
10. We get the KO after Ole Miss's FG...5 plays and a punt.
11. We take over at the OM 40, get to 1st and goal at the 3 and...you guessed it...had to settle for another FG.
12. Interception...#3, Kareem's...sets us up at the OM 16. Richardson fumbles.
13. We intercept and start on the OM 22...and have to settle for FG #5.

That's 3 turnovers...not five or six...that started in their territory...one of which we immediately gave right back to them. We wasted opportunity after opportunity, and only scored one TD the whole game.

2009 was a great team, but let's not pretend that they didn't have their own issues. South Carolina, Tennessee, and Auburn were all losable games that year...and neither one of those three teams was as good as the one that beat us last night.

This. Does Bama have a full-back? They are running a spread O with a power run team. IMO they need to be running plays out of the I formation, control the ground game and use play action pass like they used to.

+1

We've become like the Big12 offenses the SEC used to quite down. Some sdrawkcab thinking, if you ask me.
