If we are playing a team like LSU with a strong D Line, I want a game for the O Line to get the work they need.

Since we are playing A&M I will take the 2 weeks of practice to prepare for JFF

A bye week is a huge advantage.

Signed-

Every Bama fan who complained about other teams having a bye week before playing Bama

I doubt it will make a difference one way or another.

The only time I would prefer a game rather than a bye week before a big opponent is in the first week of the season. I'd rather take the next two weeks to work on issues and prepare for A&M, rather than have a weak opponent in the middle.

I would prefer having one more game and THEN a bye week, but you can't have everything. I'll take the bye. We'll be ready.

I wouldn't want a bye this early

I think it'd be better to play a nobody but in reality VT isn't some power nor does Bama have much of a tough schedule after next week

So they'll be fine

Just stating the truth

You are welcome to disagree but VT isn't The VT of 5 yrs ago, don't fool yourself

And after a&m other than LSU who will be a problem for Bama?

Because we knew this when the game was scheduled....

We are 1 game into the season. How are we supposed to know this already?

Where did I say you did? Again just stating the truth that VT isn't what they use to be.

Please, stop acting a fool. Unless Bama isn't as good as everyone thought, only two reg season opponents look like serious opponents

And again, it's about the bye. I'd prefer to play a game on the second week

I would too if you roll up your opponent like a window shade in Game 1. Why stop the momentum? However, Bama's entire O looked sloppy. I am sure they will go back over fundamentals and treat this week like a mini-Spring football drill since they will not have any travel interruptions. Then it will be game plan for A&M next week as usual but seriously, I bet Bama has had the A&M game plan down for months.

No, not in this case. We struggled against VT and the team has gotten a lot of criticism. I'm sure Saban has their attention now. Play a cupcake and they might have a chance to get a blowout and screw up their mindset.

Someone always seems to get injured in a cupcake game. I think the guys will benefit from just correcting their mistakes instead of having them masked by playing a tomatoe can.

Saban has the Philadelphia Eagles flying in to run as the scout team this week.

I'd like a cupcake game, but we're going to be fine. A&M is what we've waited for since November, and we'll be ready and off and running after that one.

Per you guys nobody is worth a damn when we play them. How could we know that Udub and TCU were going to be powerhouses?

I'd say it's one of those rare time where a cupcake would be nice and beneficial.... but a BYE week is always preferable when getting ready for an opponent.
